TW! IMPLIDED SUICIDE, ABUSE, AND ISSUES WITH POLLUTION
When did plastic
become the tree's
new decoration?
When did the food
I have begin to
taste like plastic in my mouth
if it wasn't grown in my
own ground, or raised
and slaughtered by
my own hands?
When did concrete
become more common
to see than grass,
when did out tongues
learn to be crass?
When did the slaughter
house earn so many
human bones, when did
the slaughter house
become our homes?
When did our graveyards
become so full of teens?
When did this become what it
takes for them to be seen?
When did the stranger
become the better friend
than those who said they'd
never bend?
When did it become
easier to tell me your secrets
than to tell the one
who got down
on one knee?
When did age go back to counting
the years I have survived rather than
the years I have been alive?
When did the air I breathe
become the substance that
suffocates?
When did we decide
the earth below our feet
was not worth saving?
When will it finally decay,
succumbing to its eternal
sleep?
