Hello Mary Lou! [Ricky Nelson]

Chapter Two

I was so very nervous and excited today! I could hardly eat. But I made myself eat something so I didn't end up passing out in front of Ricky. I was going to the studio today to meet him.

My mother gave me a swell new dress. It was beautiful! A light pink with lavender flowers on them. My mother even lent me her peal earrings to wear to.

I slip on high heels. I normally loved flats. But I wanted to feel elegant while I meet Ricky. I needed to feel confident to meet him.

I touch the pearls on my neck, if I kept this job on the show maybe one day I could by myself some pearls of my own. And new ones for my mother!

"You look so pretty!" Paula says as she and mom come in my room.

"Thank you, I'm excited!" I admit.

"Do you think you need a sister there to support you?" wonders Paula hopefully.

I shake my head no. "Sorry not this time kiddo" I laugh.

"When do you head to the studio to meet Ricky?" wonders mom.

"Pretty soon! I had better get going" I sigh as I look over at the clock on my wall.

"Good luck! You will knock him dead!" jokes Paula.
"You will be my little star!" Mom teases me. She gives me the keys to dads spare car to drive.

It was her car really but she called it the family car. We all could drive it, even Paula when she was able to do driving that is. I grab my purse then head to the car. Start it up. Get my seatbelt on. Then I'm on my way to the studio.

I give the studio my name when I pull up to the lot. It was a bright sunny day in California. So hot today to. I have to show them Id. To prove who I was then later I was getting a badge to show when I came to the lot.

They tell me where to park my car after they take down the license plate number as well as the make of my car for safety issues. I take a moment in my car to check over my make up and my curly hair.

I grab my purse then lock up the car once I get out. I head inside where Ricky told me to meet up when I first arrived. It was surreal seeing the fake set of the Nelson home on the lot in person!

"Why hello there...." I hear someone say to me. I turn around to see David Nelson!

He was very handsome to but not as handsome as Ricky. We shake hands.

"Hello, David correct?" I require to know though I knew it was him. He flashes a handsome smile at me.

"Yes and you must be Mary Lou! Welcome to our humble show! You will be a lovely addition to our set!" says David.

I blush then smile. "Thank you I sure hope so! I was supposed to meet Ricky here" I say. "Do you know where he is?"
