catching my breath I looked around, everyone was physically okay from what I could see. I leaned my head back as pain flared up in my leg.

"is everyone okay?" darius questioned, "is everyone..?" yasmina laughed, but nothing was there. she got out the car angrily, Sammy following her. we all followed after the girls.

"we're not okay!" "yaz-" "we're in the middle of a jungle with a monster dinosaur out there, and you..you"

"destoryed our only way to get help and lied about it!" brooklyn interrupted the two fighting girls, "I told you guys!"

"so, you did take brooklyns phone? why!? what were you doing?" darius asked, trying to understand the situation.

this is bad, Sammy had been caught, and it wouldn't be long until I was also. I had to decide, come out clean, or pretend to not know anything, and let Sammy take the fall.

"probably trying to erase my video of her taking those samples from the sinoceratops!" brooklyn came to a realization, "and you knew about the indominus rex, because you were snooping around Dr. wu's office when I ran into you, I knew it!" but what was she doing in my dad's office?

"I didn't mean to destroy the phone!" sammy said, defending herself, "I fell on it when the zip-line came down and-"

"but you did steal it? you had it that whole time and didn't tell us?" I looked over to see Ben sitting on the grass with bumpy

"hold up, what were you doing in Dr. Wu's office brooklyn?" darius asked, suspicious. I walked up to Brooklyn, I would keep up this facade as long as I could, "what the fuck were you doing in my dad's office?" I glared at her, anger running through me.

brooklyn shank at my glare, "I..It doesn't matter! I didn't break our only way to call for help and then lie about it!"

sammy looked like she was holding back something, my eye caught hers, and I pleaded, don't tell them, there's still time.

she gave me an apologetic look, before exploding

"this is not my fault! this is her fault!" "Im here to spy!" God fucking dammit.

everyone looked at Sammy, confusion in their eyes. "for a company called mantah corp." she continued

"mantah corp?" "they're a bioengineering company, big rivals with masrani, they tried to make dinosaurs too, but Wu beat them too it." at the mention of dad, everyone looked at me, I had to fake a look of hurt, before turning around and having my back face Sammy, it wasn't supposed to go like this.

"you doomed us all for some lousy company?" ben said, "our ranch was in trouble," sammy explained, "so my folks had to borrow a lot of money from some shady people, we didn't know they were fronting for mantah corp, they said we'd lose everything unless I spied for them, use the behind-the-scene access I'd get at camp to gather info from wu's lab, and DNA from dinos, and whatever else they needed, but then brooklyn caught on and I got scared, and then everything went wrong." sammy rushed to yasmina, "this is the last thing I wanted to happen!"

yasmina scoffed, "oh, to be next to a broken van on killer dinosaur island? hey! me too! what are the odds?" "yaz, I-" "was it all a lie, wanting to be friends? pretending you cared about...and on top of that, you took advantage of your own cousin! you used her, just for money? you just needed someone to hide what you were doing, tell me im wrong" sammy stayed silent, crying, "I'm such an idiot" and with that, yasmina walked away, Sammy chasing after her.

everyone turned to me, "y/n, I'm so sorry" darius started. there's no point, "I knew about Sammy spying, because me and my dad helped her." I turned around to look at everyone, shocked, "what do you mean?" brooklyn asked
