A step towards the Future

Yua Kuran wasn't sure how long she'd slept for. It felt like a day but she knew it's been years. For all she knew, she could've slept through the entire plot and Kaname could've already thrown his heart into the furnace. She frowned. 'If that idiot actually wen-'

She paused her thought process the moment she'd looked down at her hands. There was another hand in her own. A bigger one. She traced the hand up to an arm, all the way to the face of the man lying next to her. Kaname.

How long has he been there? How long has he been waiting for her? She felt guilty. She preached about standing by his side and not leaving him alone like Naomi did, but she was no better. She went to sleep for god knows how long, and now Kaname himself is indulging in potentially eternal slumber. Should she wake sleeping beauty?

She looked back over to her best friend.

Nah.

With a hop and a skip, Yua made her way out of the ditch and onto a balcony to bask in the sun light. The castle, which was more of a giant mansion, persevered throughout the passing of time. Yua wonders how long she's been down there for.

Yua debated what to do. She could save Zero's family? But, how old was Shizuka? Maybe she can save the Hio Vampire's lover? Did she get engaged to Rido already? Wait..wasn't she engaged to Rido as a child? How old was Rido right now?!

She felt her mind spiral at all the questions and possibilities and all the outcomes that could be derived from her future actions.

This was going to be a long day.

"HARUKA!" a very pregnant Juri burst through the doors of her husbands study. Haruka sighed. 'Here comes Hurricane Juri.'

His wife threw herself into his arms. "Haruka she's gone! She was right there a few days ago!" Juri wailed."Who's gone, Juri?" Haruka, for the life of him, could not get his head around the fact that something could turn his sweet, crackhead of a wife, and a pureblood at that, into such a mess. 'Probably pregnancy hormones.'

"Yua Kuran! She's disappeared!" Juri shrieked in horror. "I went down to the catacombs even though you always tell me not to, but her body wasn't there." She admitted. Haruka gave her a pointed look. Of course Juri would do the exact opposite of what you tell her to do.

Haruka was at a loss. What was anyone meant to do in such a situation? He comforted his wife and lead her back to her chambers. They'll have to talk about this when Juri gets some rest.

Yua had long since ventured outside into the open world. She masked her power to seem like an average level - C vampire. She was hoping to find any piece of information that could help her understand when she was. She just hoped that she wasn't too late. The people didn't make it any easier. They watched her every move like hawks and did so with flushed faces.

Yua was starting to feel her thirst rise. The last and only time she had human blood was back in the desert when she killed the man and took his Camel, her old friend Doris. When she was awake and adored by the entirety of vampire society, she opted to drink vampire blood instead of a human's. Her main source of food was Kaname and vise versa. But now, Kaname was still sleeping and she was still starving.

She passed by a group of vampire hunters on her scavenge for food. The group consisted of a bunch of nobodies, but she did recognize one of them. Kaien Cross. A vampire hunter who, within his own body, hosted the DNA of the very monsters he hunted for a living. If she were to bite this man, there would be no risk of turning him.

Yua approached the table with only one goal in mind. Befriend Kaien Cross and turn him into an unlimited food source!

———

Kaien was having a rough day. He had hunted a total of 13 level E's, done a butt-ton of paperwork, and was now complaining about it all to his co-workers. He sensed a vampire nearby. Their presence along with their power felt weak, so he paid them no mind. After all, Kaien was having a rough day.

However, that presence only seemed to get closer. He looked up and found himself staring at the most breathtaking violet eyes he'd ever seen. He felt like he was punched in the gut and stomped over by a stampede of bulls. Don't ask him how he knows what that feels like.

His breath caught in his throat when he saw the otherworldly beauty make her way over to his table. He was frozen even as she walked up to him. He could hear a voice in the back of his mind; warning him. 'Don't forget. This is a vampire.' The entire time, he made no more to prepare himself for a conversation. Kaien was having a very challenging and rough day!

She frowned at the drunk idiots he surrounded himself with and went on to pull him outside to lead him behind the building. Before he left, one of his associates yelled out, "Kaien, you sly dog!" He felt himself getting flustered and couldn't even clear up the misunderstanding because next thing he knew, his back was pressed up against the wall and he was caged between the vampire's arms.

"I need a favor. I'm a vampire and I know you know that too. But the thing is, I detest human blood. So, would you mind letting me feed off you?" This was probably the most polite way anybody has ever asked him for blood (it was also the only time but we won't dwell on that).

He wanted to refuse. He wanted so desperately to refuse. She was a vampire. A vampire. The very species he was trained to kill. How could he refuse when she was looking up at him like that? She even looked fatigued. Could vampires even look fatigued?

Based on his expression, she seemed to know that he wasn't going to refuse her. She pulled his hair to one side and bit down. Although it wasn't the blood of a pureblood, it still had its quality. 'I could get used to this' she sighed. She took a step back when she had her fill. If Kaien was being honest, he expected it to hurt more.

He let out a sigh of relief when she stepped back and he stumbled back and forth a couple times before regaining his footing. She was starting to take too much, but he wasn't going to stop her. Judging by how long she fed on him for, he'd take a not so wild guess and claim that she was starving after being surrounded by so many humans. After all, it's not like you'd come across a hunter who would willingly let you feed on them.

He looked up, wanting to ask the girl some questions but stopped in his tracks. She was already gone. Kaien let out another sigh. And then an annoyed groan. And then proceeded to punch the wall. Kaien was having a rough day, indeed.

Yua disappeared the moment she got the chance. She didn't think about where she was going. She ended up teleporting herself to a small town by the outskirts of what used to be Naomi's home town, Kaname. Yua lost track of how long she spent there. She knew it was a long time since the tombstone of the human she'd saved has long since decayed.

During her stay in Naomi's hometown, Yua saved and raised an arrogant girl who wanted to be young and beautiful forever. Yua raised the girl into her servant/secretary/confidant of minor issues. The woman, as she grew older resented Yua for her beauty and youthfulness (and despite her ire, a part of her still loved her savior). But alas, even her hatred for the dark haired beauty was a waste because she is now dead and her hate had done nothing to better her life.

And so, Yua began her journey again. She was now confident in her ability to alter the plot and change the ending. She will give it everything she's got to ensure that the characters live out their 'happily ever after.'
