"There you are Darling."
And there my morning was ruined. "Don't call me that."
"Yes yes whatever."
He rolled his eyes and turned to face the kitchen counter.
"What flavor of tea do you want?"
I had now given up trying to understand Wonderland and its magic and answered instead.
"Surprise me!"
But I shouldn't have said that, because the smile I was met by was bigger than Cheshire's.
"Are you sure?"
No going back now.
"Sure, go for it."

The breakfast I was served looked fairly normal. It consisted of toast, pink scrambled eggs and the mysterious tea. First I carefully took a sip of the tea, it tasted sweet, like fruit, or berries, or maybe candy? "What flavor is that?"
He smiled again at me with a playful twinkle in his eyes he answered.
"I will never tell."
Ass.
"But taste the scrambled eggs."
"Why? Have you poisoned them?"
He clutched his chest dramatically and exclaimed.
"I would never!"
I looked at him skeptically and didn't break eye contact whyle I scooped in a small piece of scrambled eggs and chewed. My God, it was good! It was better than any scrambled egg I've ever eaten. But why was it pink?
"It's great, but why is it pink?"
"You mean your scrambled eggs aren't usually pink?"
"Yes, yes I mean it."
"Strange, but it's made from flamingo eggs, that's why it's pink."
Yes, I was the strange one.

After we eat I help him with the dishes and as we stood there I wondered why there was magic for so much, but not for washing dishes. Just as if he read my mind Louis said. "There's magic to doing this, but I like to do the dishes myself."
"Ohhh."
Ohh? What kind of answer was that! While he was doing the dishes, I dried them and while we stood there in silence, I looked out. Out on the lake that was behind the house, the sun that made the water sparkle with its rays and the small dock that led out into the lake. It could have been a painting and just like before, it was as if he read my mind.
"Shall we go out then?"
"Huh?"
"Do you want to go out then? Out to the lake."
"Yes, that sound nice..."
So we did.

I lay out on the dock in the sun and enjoyed it. I was like a cat in the sun and I hadn't felt this free in a long time. What Louis was doing I had no idea, but I really didn't care. I was free and I enjoyed it. Until I felt the dock shake beneath me. I opened my eyes, but before I could even sit up I heard a splash.
"Louis what the hell!"
He just laughed at me.
"Jump in it's warm!"
"No!"
He swam to the dock and half lifted himself up on it and then I noticed it. He had almost no clothes on! From what I saw, he could be naked!
"Come on jump in!"
"Never!"
He could be naked!
"Why not? it's hot if that's what you're worried about."
"I said no!"
But I guess he couldn't accept that. Quickly he grabbed my ankle and before I could fight back he had pulled me into the water. My face was under the surface for maybe ten seconds, but it felt like an eternity. When I finally got back up I was gasping for air. My face met Louis' and he smiled, almost laughed, but I was panicking. It felt like something was pulling me towards the bottom and I splashed wildly to try to stay afloat. But it didn't work and before I got under the surface again I got out. "Louis, I can't swim!"
The last thing I saw was the panic in his eyes and everything around me went black.

"Y/n! Y/n! Answer good dammit!"
I opened my eyes a little confused. "Why am I wet?"
He smiled and then he started laughing. He laughed and then threw his arms around me.
"God I thought I had killed you!"
"No, but this hug might."
He hugged me so hard I thought my bones would break.
"Louis you're crushing me."
He let go of me, got up and walked towards the house.
"Wait! That's not what I meant!"
But he went in. I didn't know what I had done wrong, but then he came back again with two towels, one for himself and one for me. Only then did I realize he was only wearing a pair of pants, and when he handed me the towel I blushed all over my face.
"You don't have to blush for me Darling."
He stood next to me and I took the opportunity. Before he could wrap the towel around himself, I plunged him into the water, but he did not come back up.
"Louis?"
No answer of course.
"Louis!"
Now I started to get really scared and without thinking, I plunged back into the water.
"Louis!!"
It wasn't so smart because now I had to focus more on staying afloat instead of actually finding Louis. "Louis!!"
Then panic came over me when something grabbed my waist. I twisted, kicked and flailed my arms to try and get free.
Only when I heard his familiar voice did I calm down.
"Hello Darling. Be careful so the sea monster doesn't kidnap you!"
"Louis I'm going to kill you! I thought you were dead!"
He laughed again and pulled us both onto the dock.
"Did I scare you?"
I didn't answer him. I was actually going to ignore him!
"Hello can you hear me Darling?" "Darling?"
"Ohh okay that's how it's supposed to be, okay see if you can stay silent now then!"
"Wha--ahhh!"
He lifted me onto one shoulder and while I fumbled to get free, he carried me and our tow towels into the house.

Once back inside, he sat me down on the floor.
"What the hell!"
"Ahh nice to see you talking again!"
I glared at him angrily before trying to make my way past and up to my room.
"Ohh no, not now! It's tea time!" "Seriously."
"Dead serious."
"Fine! But then, then...."
"Then what?"
"I, I can't remember."
"Then it couldn't have been that important!"
"No, no probably not."
"Which flavor do you want?" "Surprise me."
