I had to blink a few times to make sure it was real, but it was. Then I realized something. I had been in wonderland for three days, so I had been gone for three days! I quickly gathered up my books, put them in the basket and started running. Only now did I realize how worried I must have made my father. I just disappeared without a single trace!

It didn't take me long to reach the house and once there I yanked open the door.
"Ohh my lady are you home already?" "Already? I've been gone for days!"
At first the maid did not answer, but then she smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I know my lady likes to dream away in her books, so I can understand it might have felt that way."
"But--."
"Though it was good you came now, then we can start getting you ready for dinner."
"What dinner?"
She smiled again before saying.
"The big dinner with his lord companions."
Right! I had completely forgotten about it. But why hadn't it taken place, I had been gone for a long time, but here it only seemed like a few hours had passed. In any case, I followed the maid up to my room where she helped me get ready. Everything was going on as usual, but all the while I could only think of one thing. Why had the maid said the big dinner, what was so special about this particular one? Father had had companions over before. Finally, I decided not to put too much weight on it and instead focus on what jewelry I would wear.

We arrived at the same time to the dinner room, father and the men from father's rooms and me from mine. As I approached a chair, Charls pulled it out for me, and to my dismay, he sat down next to me.
"You look stunning as always my daughter, don't you agree with men?!" The men cheered in agreement with my father's words and I looked down at the table. However, no one noticed because they were too busy getting their glasses filled with wine.
"Yes, truly stunning."
Charls whispered to me while his hand under the table pressed lightly on my leg!
"Thanks."
Was all I whispered, hoping he wouldn't see it as encouraging. But thankfully the food began to be served and Charls became too busy with his rosted pullet hen to make any further advances.

When everyone had emptied their plates, everyone but me, my father exclaimed.
"Deser is served in the red salon." When all the men started to move away towards the salon, I tried to get away, but my father didn't want enny of that! He claimed that as a hostess I should keep them company and as usual I relented.

Well, sitting in one of the sofas in the salon, I felt the same discomfort that I always felt here, I didn't know why, but if I had to guess, I would think it was from the blood red color on the walls. I don't know why, but something about it gave me the chills. So when we all had enjoyed a delicious cake with whipped cream and the men were moving towards the pool room I thought I would get my chance to go up to my room, but before everyone left Charles exclaimed.
"I'll stay here and keep Y/n company!" The other men nodded and said something about him being a gentleman before they left.
"I actually think it's best if you go with them."
I said without trying to sound rude.
"Nonsens! Your company is much nicer!"
He said before locking the door the men had just walked through.
"So the drunk old men don't bother us."
He said with an apologetic look towards the door.
"I'm just thinking about rumours."
I tried, but he shook it off with a wave of his hand.
"Ohh there's no danger of that, who would try to hurt us, mine or your father?"
He laughed at his own words and took the liberty of sitting down next to me.

I became more and more uncomfortable and tried to put as much space between us as possible, but it was difficult when he kept moving closer. Now I was stuck between the armrest of the sofa and Charles, when he said.
"You know it's true, that you're beautiful."
I blushed a little, but before I could thank him he said.
"Don't blush! It's nothing to be ashamed of!"
I was just about to thank him, but then I noticed. His hand was on my leg and when he noticed I was looking he just smiled.
"Charls I think you--."
"I wasn't sure you reciprocated my feelings, but now at dinner I know!" Before I could protest he had taken a firm grip on my shoulders and kissed me! With all my strength I pushed him away and stood up.
"Charles!!"
"Y/n."
"I never meant--."
"Oh yes you moste certainly did! But now you're just a coward!"
"No! I never wanted to--."
"A little slut is what you are. But I like ladies like that!"
He lunged after me, but I was faster. I threw myself against the door and unlocked it, then ran down the long corridor towards the stairs and my room. However that didn't stop me from hearing Charl's scream.
"One day I will have you Y/n, you will be mine! True to my words you will be mine!!"
Gentleman my ass.

After locking the door, for my own safety, taking off my dress, jewelry, and undoing my hair, I threw my self on the bed. What had just happened!
I had never liked Charls, but I would have never believe that he could be so terrible! I wonder what could have happened if I hadn't gotten away from him. But it was probably better not to wonder. Instead, I hid under my covers, and a small part of me wished I would have never left Wonderland.
Never have left Louis.
