CH5: I'm in love with my best friend

Ezra's pov:

I was at Maudie's house with Ava, and we were all working on the school project, and don't ask where Kyle is cause I don't know but he's probably at his house (ofc where else would he be) anyways as we were working Maudie suddenly got up.

"I'm gonna get the tape," she said, before quickly walking away until out of view.

She looked like she was just not okay (mentally ofc)

"I'll go look for her." Ava said, as she laughed awkwardly, and ran after Maudie.

It was very weird but as they were gone I grab my phone to text Kyle.

Ezra: hi Kyle can I talk to you about something?

Kyle: I'm really bored where are you?

Ezra: I'm at Maudie's house

Kyle: oh really?😏

Ezra: Kyle it's not like that at all we are just working on the school project which you didn't even bother to try and work on!!!

Kyle: are you two alone?😏😏

Ezra: no Ava is with us

Kyle: oh bummer

Ezra: anyways about that thing I wanted to talk to you about

Kyle: what is it?

Ezra: I've been feeling a bit weird around Maudie

Kyle: oh really how does she make you feel huh?😏😜

Ezra: like... nervous and just weird

Kyle: like how weird?

Ezra: like neutral but numb at the same time

Kyle: is that a good thing?

Ezra: I don't know but it feels good

Kyle: so what would you do if she asked you to be her boyfriend?

Kyle: now re-read the texts

Ezra: no wait!

Kyle has went offline

I saw Maudie come in again and Maudie sat next to me again I quickly turned off my phone and put it away so they won't see the texts.

"Hey, Ezra what do you think of the design so far?" Maudie asked, looking at me.

She gestured to the project we were making she looked at me I froze and I felt like time stopped as we stared at each other o mesmerized her features as I blushed.

My eyes widen

Then Maudie suddenly snapped me back into reality.

"hElLoLooOoOO, eZrRrAa" Maudie said.

I blinked back into reality

"I'm sorry, Maudie, I-I gotta go..." I said getting up and putting my backpack over my shoulder.

Not gonna lie I felt a bit bad that I just did that it was very rude of me but I just did know what I was doing at that point so I ran to the one person who can solve it all for me...

Kyle

Ok I know Kyle is a bit stupid but he has a very good way of getting the truth out of you especially if it's something stupid like this.

I rang Kyle's doorbell and impatiently waited for him to answer and when he did he looked very sleepy and tired.

"What are you doing here it's past my bedtime." Kyle said clearly annoyed.

"I think I'm in love with Maudie." I whispered to him.

His eyes widen

"What?!" He exclaimed.

"Shh..." I shushed. "Just let me in and I'll explain everything.

He let me in and led me upstairs to his bedroom and closed the door behind him.
