CH9: 1st year anniversary

Ava's pov:

Today is the inBESTigators 1 year anniversary which means we absolutely have to celebrate it. It has been officially 1 year since the inBESTigators had come together so right now we're all sitting at lunch planning the celebration.

"Ok, so, cake?" I suggested.

They all nodded.

"Piñata?" I asked.

"Ava, we don't need all of that stuff." Maudie said.

"But it's reasonable, anyways, confetti?" I replied.

Ezra's pov:

A/N: this is after the party (I didn't know what to write)

I went back home, I was exhausted I hopped on my bed a got out my homework to finish then I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I called out.

It was my mum.

"Hey, Ezra. Studying, huh?" She said.

I nodded.

"Yeah, but I'm almost finished."

"Well, after you're finished can you please go help poppy with her project?" She asked.

"Can't she go it on her own?" I whined.

"Please, Ezra, me and your father are really tired." She begged.

"Ok, but after I'm finished." I sighed.

"Thank you." Mum left.

She closed the door and I went back to my homework but I was startled by a sudden knock on my window.

I lifted the blinds to see Maudie on my roof.

I nearly choked on my own saliva as she waved.

I opened the window and she walked in.

"Oof, it's so hot outside." She said, fanning herself.

"What are you doing here? And how did climbing onto the roof? And why?" I asked.

Maudie giggled.

"I was bored so I thought I'd come visit you here."

"You didn't think to give me a call or something?" I asked.

"No, my phone died." She said.

I rolled my eyes playfully but couldn't help but smile.

"Ok, ok, but I gave to help Poppy later." I said.

"Just for a little bit, please." Maudie begged, taking my hands in hers.

"Ok, fine, what do you wanna do?" I asked.

She smirked.

A/N: wait I want you to imagine it's late but not too late at night and Maudie brought a book with her ok because I don't wanna rewrite everything.

"Oh, c'mon don't be such a baby." Maudie teased.

"I am not a baby." I said.

"Ok, then prove it, climb onto the roof with me." She said holding up her book.

I sighed.

"Fine." I said.

I know this doesn't make full sense but that's ok just keep reading or if you don't like it just stop reading and excuse me for the Ava pov I just wanted to make a reason for Ezra to be exhausted.
