Chapter 27

Taehyun and Soobin did not talk all week long.

The younger was not in school, he wasn't active on Instagram, and he was also not responding to any messages Soobin sent.

He was deathly worried for him.

It's funny. It really feels like our roles have been switched. He's the one who's probably dealing with a lot of crap right now, and I am doing fine this time.

It was Friday morning when Soobin woke up not his alarm, but to his phone buzzing. He picked it off the nightstand, looked at it, and his heart began to beat faster.

He immediately clicked on the banner and read the entire message.

Hi Soobin, I'm sorry for not responding to any text messages or making contact with you. I really am, and I apologize for causing you any stress.
My sisters are fine, but I wanted to stay with them for the week; that's also why I did not reply to any messages cuz I turned off my notifications. I'm sorry for not telling you.
Mom found a way that may help them get back on their feet, but it costs a lot of money. Again, she wants to earn the money on her own. I started working again in the evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays too.
I might be in school today, and I was hoping you'd like to spend time together tonight. I want to see you again. Let me know as soon as possible. Love you lots, Tyun <3

Soobin didn't know he had kept in an extreme sigh of relief until then, knowing he was okay. He responded right away.

Hey Taehyun, I got your text
It's completely fine; at least now I know you're doing okay
We can hang out at my place; my parents are working late tonight
I'll drop you off at home

He replied immediately.

See you in school Soobin

See you Tyun

And Soobin ended up not seeing Taehyun the entire day... until the end at least.

He was with Hoseok and Jungkook by the main entrance, talking about their upcoming prom that the girls needed help organizing.

"I'll be instructing all of you in the dance. Although I'd rather teach hip hop than a waltz," Hoseok chuckled.

"But I'm gonna be your partner, right?" Jungkook pouted.

"Of course Jungkookie, why would you say that?"

Soobin sighed.

"Too bad it's only for us seniors exclusively. I don't want to dance with someone who isn't you-know-who."

"Lord Voldemort?" Jungkook asked.

Soobin gave him a look, while Hoseok just laughed, thinking it was a good one.

"No, you know who Soobin means," he said.

"Ah. Right."

Jungkook furrowed his brows.

"But why would you not say his name?"

"Well, maybe because I am dating in secret?"

"Oh. Right... almost forgot about."

Almost forgot? Is he fucking serious right now? (A/N: Soobin not to be rude but you're not the only one with a lot on their plate 🙄💀)

Hoseok saw his annoyed, angry expression and stepped in between the two of them before things got hot in a bad way.
