~ Zak
He knew he was playing a very dangerous game since he somehow came to terms with Ascian, but it only really hit him when he silently closed the back door behind Kian at the same time the front door of their house got opened. A few seconds later and all three of them would've been in really bad trouble. He was very sure that his father wouldn't have hesitated to punish Ascian again, then him and maybe even Kian. He had to make sure that this wouldn't ever happen.

While his parents unloaded the groceries they bought in the kitchen, Zak silently made his way up into his room, as to not draw attention to the back door, where he was certain that Kian didn't went away from yet. But when he stood at the window in his room he saw a person - most likely to be Kian - sprinting down the way to the street. Zak sighed in relief. At least one thing less to worry about at the moment. But he somehow had to prevent such close encounters between Kian and his own parents. They wouldn't be that lucky the next time.
Zak began pacing up and down in his room, trying to figure out a way to make it more safe for his brother and Kian to meet up. The easiest way would be to send a text to Kian every time his parents would be gone for a longer while and then hiding at the entrance of the way to their house to send Kian a text when their parents came back. He thought about that for a while and was okay with the plan he came up with. Now he just had to get Kians number from Ascian.

He opened the door of his room to go to Ascians room which was just across the hallway. But he instantly shut it when he saw his mother staring into Ascians room. He knew that was a bad sign. Whenever their mother would say something really quiet or have an aura like right now, she was about to explode. A shiver went down his back when he remembered all the times he didn't pay attention to these signs. Zak cautiously opened his door the smallest bit to hear what his mother was saying.
"...this to you?", was the last bit of the sentence he understood. And he immediately knew what she was asking. Yes, she was practically disgusted of Ascian for being gay, but she was still his mother and she still cared for him somehow, under that whole layer of homophobic disgust. It was clear to Zak that she would never forgive his father if she heard what he did to his own son. That would destroy their family. If you could even call it one after all.
He honestly didn't know what he himself would answer. He wouldn't be able to tell her that it was his father, her husband. His father would beat him up even more when he found out that he told her.

And then an icy feeling traveled down his spine. Ascian was grounded. He couldn't have been beaten up by some homophobic jerks on the street. Which would only leave Zak to be the only person to have done this. And he knew that his mother would believe Ascian. He had been the 'good child' for too long and Zak hadn't really proved himself to her yet. She didn't think of him as reliable or polite as Ascian, even though Zak knew that both of them were nearly equal in these things. He always had tried to copy what his younger brother did, in order to get the same amount of love and attention. It never worked though. When he was fourteen he'd came out as bisexual to his parents and ever since then, his father had beaten him up for that on a regular basis . Until Ascian came out as gay.

His thoughts traveled back to the current situation. At the way his mother shifted her weight onto her other leg he could see that Ascian still didn't answer. "Can you tell me now?", she asked in a slightly impatient tone. Zak closed his eyes and could already see his mother turning around to come into his room just to see him already standing there, eavesdropping. "I...sneaked out earlier. To get some fresh air. And there were those...guys. Somehow they seemed to know about...you know. They started calling me names and then one of them shoved me against a near wall. I shoved him back because I was angry at them for shoving me. And then all 4 of them, well, teamed up against me.", Zak heard his brother say and it warmed his heart and made him feel awful at the same time. He quietly closed his door again because he just couldn't bear to hear his mothers reaction to that. Zak shook his head in disbelief. "That fucking idiot...", he muttered. How could Ascian tell such a lie if he knew that he would be getting beat up for it again? Did he knew? A shiver went down Zak's spine. What if Ascian didn't think of he himself getting beat up again but just wanting to protect his brother who told him about getting beat up for year before? An incredible feeling of guilt started to form in Zak's stomach. Why did he tell Ascian about that anyway? It was nothing which could've helped him and now it made his situation even worse!

Zak's began to pace again. "I have to do something," was all that he could think of. But how? Then a thought crossed his mind and an idea started to form. A dangerous and maybe even heroic idea. He opened his phone and tapped on his chat with Nate. He took a deep breath before he typed out a message and pressed send:
Hey babe :) u free today?
He knew that this probably wasn't a good idea. But he would at least try to help his younger brother.

        Upload a story they said
It would be fun they said
Yes, a little bit fun was definitely there considering the 51 reads and all
But what about the stress like I had this chapter chilling in my drafts for so long and every time I was like "oh shit I still have to do this"
And then like, other authors make weekly updates and I am here for nearly a year (!!!!!) and still have only 8 proper chapters like??
        How??? can they do this???
Anyways, I only have four exams left now and they're not too near (as if I'd start to learn until 2 days before-) so I should've have time to
write more but I have to see how it works for me

        Okay, have a beautiful day/night <3
