He was having a small snack he made as his dorm today, as he waited for the person he messaged to arrive.
Although he could try to negotiate by himself, he felt that he would have a greater chance if he brought her as well.

At the sudden voice, Kai looked toward the side, where he spotted Kushida, coming toward him with a smile.
That's right. Before he left the class, he send a message to Kushida, to meet him in the cafeteria after class.
Kai: *Nods* Yes, it is isn't it? *Small Bow* Forgive me for taking your time, Kushida-San.
Seeing that, Kushida shook her head.
Kushida: No. Don't worry! I'm happy to be able to spend time with you, Kayaba-Kun!
As soon as she said that, Kai smiled before prompting her to sit. As she did, Kai quickly took another look at the vending machine, as Kushida quickly noticed.
Kushida: Kayaba-Kun, can I ask you something?
Kai: *Looks back at her* What is it, Kushida-San?
When he asked that, Kushida suddenly gained a embarrassed expression.
Kushida: Well, you must have a reason to invite me, right?
As soon as Kushida said that, Kai looked at her with a bit of curiosity.
