Vol 2 Finally: The Result is the Same

The place was quiet. After Kai and Ichinose had both worked so hard to pull this off, in the end, it was all for naught. Although Horikita had put everything together very nicely, it still wasn't looking good.

If Class C didn't withdraw their complaint, then all of her plan would fall down to ruins. Even all of Ichinose's, Lee's and Kanzaki's efforts would be for naught.

Ichinose held a downcast expression, as she felt partially responsible.

Ichinose: *Hopeful* M-Maybe I could go with you and Horikita, Kayaba-Kun! I could testify about Class C's lies!

Of course, even after everything that had happened, Ichinose still wanted to help.

With her being a witness to basically Ishizaki and company's words, she could have easily testified for their cause. She could have claimed to know the truth of the events that transpired that day.

However, at the remark, Kai merely shook his head. Even though she could, it wouldn't work.

Kai: I don't it's going to work. The Student Council President, prohibited the arrival of new witnesses.

The reason he did this, was to avoid creating even more confusion and doubt. If more students suddenly came forward, telling different variations of the events that had transpired, then the whole trial would continue indefinitely.

That's the reasoning that Kai found. Which reminds him of his words to him.

Ichinose: But still...Should we maybe tell Horikita-San?

At the remark, Kai nodded. The meeting was about to start, to it was as good as time as any.

Getting his phone out, Ichinose got close to him, as Kai started to type the message onto someone.

At the top of the message, Ichinose could clearly see the name of Horikita Suzune present.

As she did, Kai typed in the message, explaining what had happened. How Karma Akabane had seen through her plan. How the cameras had failed and how Class C was hearing toward the trial.

After waiting for a few seconds, nothing really happened.

Ichinose's Thoughts: Perhaps she's already inside the Student Council R—

At the sounded, Kai and Ichinose looked back at his phone, as the saw how Horikita had answered.

<Horikita>: I see...So that's how it turned out...

Seeing her messaged, Ichinose frowned, feeling disappointed.

Even though Horikita had come up with such an elaborate plan, it didn't work out in the end. And now, their classmate was going to suffer for it.

As she was about to comment something, however, another message arrived at Kai's phone, as the two looked down at it.

<Horikita>: However, it's not like I didn't anticipate such a possibility.

Ichinose: *Confuse* Eh?

At her remark, Ichinose let out a sound of confusion, as Kai raised an eyebrow in wonder.

He was also trying to discern what Horikita was talking about.

<Kai>: What do you mean...?

<Horikita>: What I'm trying to say, is that please thank Ichinose-Chan and Class B. However, I was ready for the possibility, if somehow, they didn't chose to withdraw the complaint, after the talk between all of you.
