Chapter 1- I Couldn't Wish For Better

I wouldn't have been able to make this story without the help and support of my best friends Habibae and ShammaYounus. Go check their stories out, they're amazing! Now, without further ado, here is the first ever chapter of "When Happiness Is Eliminated". Hope you like it!

*Ava POV*

Ugh... waiting for the final bell to ring feels like forever! After what seemed like 10 hours, the final bell finally rings and I scramble up from my seat and make my way to the door. I see my friends, Chloe, Cathy, Cara and Courtney as I approach my locker. They all squeal in unison, almost causing my eardrums to explode. I'm finally able to go to the mall with them, on the last school day of the week... this was one heck of a week. But for now, I'm just happy that I can go and that I'm not trapped at home like my parents want me to be 24/7. I couldn't be happier, I couldn't wish for better.

My parents have left the country, and I'm free. They would never let me go out on a Friday afterschool with my friends because they have to be awfully protective of me. I wish my parents were like Chloe's, they let her do anything she wants, whenever she wants. Unlike my parents, I have to stay at home whenever I'm not at school and weekends are days to spend with the "family" because "family is more important than friends". Ugh, I just hate that rule! But anyways, they're gone now (thank god) and I can (for the first time in forever) spend a day with my friends, not at school!

"Come on! What are we waiting for?! Let's go!!!" Cara screams. As you may notice, Cara's the "drama-queen" in our group, she over-exaggerates EVERYTHING, literally everything. When we're 2 minutes late to class because we're just taking our time walking from class to class, she makes it seem like we've skipped a whole lesson. Though she does have a point, what ARE we waiting for??? We should've left the school by now, I'm sick of this place.

Then, all of a sudden, Cathy appears, I didn't even notice she was gone. "Bad news guys..." she informs us as she walks towards us. "WHAT HAPPENED?!" we all shout. "My brother can't drive us to the mall like he was supposed to!" She sighs. 

No. The one time I can actually go to the mall and spend a day out with my friends turns out to be the day where it all goes wrong!

"Why not?!" I plead. "He has a course today that he can't miss and my parents just called saying that I have to walk home, instead of him picking me up!" She explains. "Don't your parents know that he's taking us to the mall?" I quickly reply. "No, I didn't tell them, but it wouldn't have mattered because they would've let me anyways. Plus, I would've just told Nick to take us to the mall instead of to my house this time." She depressingly states.

Great! I thought that today was gonna be the best day ever, and I would've been the happiest person alive. Turns out I was wrong. "Can't we walk?" I desperately say. "Are you serious Ava?! The mall's like 20 minutes away from here BY CAR, imagine how long it would take for us to WALK there!" Courtney says, as if I just commit a crime. "Ok... so now what?" I ask, hoping for a miracle to happen allowing us to go to the mall again. "I guess we just have to go back home." Cathy disappointingly says. "I'm sorry guys, I should've made sure with Nick and my parents to see if anyone could take us, I guess I just ruined your day, didn't I?"

She sure did, I thought. But I made it seem like it wasn't a big deal, just like everyone else did. Again, still hoping for a miracle to happen right now.
"I think my parents could take us. I'm sure they wouldn't mind!" Chloe says. "Yes! Please check with them! I beg you..." I say. Finally! A miracle just happened, what I always wanted. Well, technically, I only wanted this miracle in the past 5 minutes, but still... 
"Ok, my mom need 2 minutes and they'll be right here." Chloe delightingly says! Yes! Now hopefully nothing messes up the day again. I'm so happy! Aaaah, I shriek all-of-a-sudden from excitement. I couldn't wish for better!

We talk amongst ourselves to pass the time, and out of nowhere, we see Chloe's parents. "Woah! That was quick." I say in shock. "Hi girls" Chloe's mom says. She's gorgeous! No wonder Chloe's really pretty. "Hi!" We all reply with the biggest smile on our faces. "What are you guys waiting for?" She says. "Let's head to the car. C'mon!" 

I'm in love with her mom right now. She literally looks like a Victoria Secret's model, she's stunning. Her body, her face, her hair, her clothes, just everything about her is perfect! I've heard about Chloe's mom before, but never have I actually seen her. I wish I have, otherwise, I would've been thinking about the mall right now, not her perfection. I kinda forgot about the fact that my parents are out of town, and I feel a bit bad about going to the mall without them knowing, even though I'm sure that if they knew, they wouldn't have let me. Nah, I don't think I should feel bad! Plus, I do need and deserve a little break, and this is the perfect time. 

"Ava! Come on, you're taking forever!" Cathy emphasizes. I wasn't actually taking forever, they just went to the car really fast, and I didn't notice they were gone already. I was too busy thinking about Chloe's mom, and then my parents, and now, I finally remember, we're going to the mall! I quickly hurry to the car, and squish myself next to Courtney, Cathy and Cara, while Chloe sits in the front with her mom, and close the door. Her mom tries to start the engine, and while I talk with Courtney who's sitting next to me about how exciting this whole thing is, we begin to hear Chloe saying: "Are you serious?! Not again..."
