Having 3 older brothers has never been easy

Having 3 older brothers has never been easy. Lorenzo, Charles and Arthur, were all intent on making my life miserable. Any boyfriend I had was scared off by them whenever he would see my three brothers at family gatherings or just when he'd come over. So when I started dating Max I knew they could never know —especially Charles — but dating a three-time word champion comes with its struggles.

Only Daniel knows about me and Max, because he walked in on us making out in Max's driver room last season. It was as embarrassing as it sounds and then we had to make sure he wouldn't tell anybody else about it, which is way more difficult than you'd think. Eventually after making us promise we'd never do anything where he might walk in on us again he agreed not to tell a soul.

Today was the day of the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix and I was going into it hopeful the front row was made up of my brother and my boyfriend. As much as I love to watch Max win races I was really rooting for Charles today because it's our home race.

"Good luck Cha." I said to him as I wrapped him in a hug before he left to get into his car. I'll have to admit I wish I could wear a team shirt but I couldn't choose between Ferrari for Charles or Red Bull for Max.

I always stood and watched the race in the Ferrari garage so no one grew suspicious as to why I would be in the Red Bull one.

The race began, Max was leading and Charles was hot on his tail often trying for the overtake but just falling short. I watched the race intently not taking my eyes away from the screen for a second.

As the race neared the last 10 laps I watched Max enter turn 13 he turned then went straight into the wall, cramming his car against the padded barrier. My face dropped as the few agonising seconds passed as we waiting for that radio to show up and say he was alright.

I'm ok.

A sigh of relief left my lips and I realised that I had in fact been holding my breath since I saw him crash. The race was red flagged while they cleaned up the debris, I snuck out of the garage during all the hustle and bustle in paddock.

I found Max who was clearly aggravated, as he left the medical room he was muttering to himself and sipping on his drink.

"Are you alright?" I asked as I wrapped him in my arms, he took a few seconds to respond to my hug having been looking down at the floor beforehand.

"Just a bruised ego." He joked as he wrapped his arms around me before we both pulled away. "But it was a rookie mistake." He grumbled as we walked toward the Red Bull garage. "Only a rookie would make that mistake, it's stupid." I did disagree with his statement I can name a few current drivers who would make that mistake easily. I could see he was angry with himself and as ashamed as I am to admit it, it turned me on a lot. Max continued to complain and grumbled about his mistake as we walked into his driver room which was when I let my facade fall.
