It was a secret, that's how it had to be. No one could ever know that the daughter of Toto Wolff was dating the driver he hated the most. Max mother-fucking Verstappen, as he was often referred to by him.

Whenever Toto would talk about Max and complain he'd won another Grand Prix or that he'd pipped Lewis to the post for a fastest lap and stolen that extra point, she was always silent. She never said a word to even add to it, not even an 'ok' she was silent every single time refusing to slander her boyfriend's name.

Y/n's POV

I stood in the Mercedes garage watching Max lead the race as he had done for the past 62 laps and it didn't look like anyone was going overtake him in the remaining 4 of them.

"Fuck!" My dad shouted from beside me throwing his headphones down in a temper as he saw Lando overtake Lewis and bump him off the podium. He walked away from the screens not bothering to even watch the last laps. Once the race was over and it was the podium celebration I went to my dad's office to see if he'd cooled off.

"You alright?" I asked poking my head around the door he looked up from his desk over at me.

"Yeah, but if it wasn't for that fucking dickhead Max Verstappen we'd still have been on the podium." He grumbled before scribbling something down I walked into the room and shut the door behind me. His logic was also flawed because it was Lando that pushed Lewis off the podium but I suppose he blames Max for anything and everything at this point.

"Have you ever thought that maybe Lewis is past his prime? And that Max is in his?" I suggested, his head snapped up and locked his eyes with mine. I'd never seen such fury in his eyes before, as if he was seeing red at my statement.

"What?" He asked his teeth gritted and his jaw clenched. "How the fuck could you even suggest that!" He yelled "What a stupid thing to even think of! Lewis is one of the greatest drivers of all time!" I looked down away from him. I didn't have the courage to respond as he then rose up from his seat. "That is so stupid! If Lewis was in that Red Bull he'd do just as well as that pretentious fuck!" Hearing those words made my blood boil, yes Max did think highly of himself but he was not pretentious.

"Have you ever met him?" I asked now unable to resist the urge to defend my boyfriend but in a very covert way.

"I know enough." Dad shook his head now calming down from his irate state. "You care to much Y/n, why do you care about him?" I shrugged as he pushed me into a metaphorical corner.

"He's a person too I guess." I shrugged before turning and grabbing the door handle. "I'll see you later." I sighed out as I left the room leaving him stood in there in the empty office.

I walked down the hallway biting my tongue and wishing I could just tell him that Max and I were together. Maybe then he'd understand why I don't like him insulting him, maybe he'd even stop doing it but I seriously doubt it.
