I stood in our Greek villa as I got ready to go and sunbath outside. I didn't need much just my book, sunglasses and suncream that I'd already applied.
I left our bedroom with my book in my hand and walked outside to where Charles and Elodie were playing in the pool together.
"Papa catch!" Elodie shouted before throwing herself into the pool towards Charles. He caught her and then threw her away from him. She swam back to the surface of the water and giggled. "Again!" She demanded Charles smiled as he began to slowly swim away from her before he spoke.
"Swim to me then." He said to our daughter who huffed before swimming after Charles who carried on moving away.
"Papa!" She complained as she stopped and swam to edge of the pool holding onto the poolside.
"Ok sorry baby." He apologised swimming over a little, she hummed happily before swimming over to him and he picked her up before launching her across the pool. She swam back up the surface and howled with laughter before returning to the poolside and holding onto the small ledge. "Aren't you coming in chérie? It's lovely." He said looking over me from where he was stood in the pool with his sunglasses on.
"Yeah I will, I'm going to read for a little while." I told him he nodded as I sat on one of the few sun loungers and watched as they played in the pool.
I opened my book up onto the page I had read up to and began to read, but couldn't keep my focus on account of Charles and Elodie's screams of joy from a few metres in front of me. I let out a sigh and smiled as I closed my book and set it down on the small table beside me.
I walked over to the pool and Charles looked over at me after chucking our daughter into the water.
"Decided to join us?" He asked with a little smile as I sat down the poolside ready to slide into the cool water.
"Yeah I did." I said to him as I lowered myself into the pool, I was wearing a small navy blue bikini that really didn't leave a lot to be imagined. I sucked in a sharp breath as the cold water enveloped around my body.
"Salut mama." Elodie smiled as she swam over her pink arm bands helping her to stay above the water. [Hi]
"Ew go away." Charles joked pulling a repulsed face before picking up Elodie and lobbing her away from us. She screamed with laughter before her body hit the water and plunged underneath. She swam back over and clutched onto Charles' arm so that she didn't have to tread water and could use her energy for swimming around. "Go have a drink, you've not had one in a while." Charles told Elodie who nodded and swam over to steps and toddled her way over to the villa and to where her water bottle was just inside.
Charles pulled me close to him his lips hovering above mine as the thick midday Greek heat swarmed around us. I pressed our lips together which was followed by a short but passionate kiss, we wouldn't do anything too much with Elodie around.
