Chapter 8: part two Exploring the Elven Capital

Narrator pov
Arthur woke up, thinking it was just past dusk, but it truly had been more than a day, but for reasons unknown the elvin family were oblivious
Arthur POV

Everything was perfect Though my plans were foiled after I came to find Tessia, where have you been? How about this? We'll go on a walk throughout the city, and I won't tell Grandpa or my parents. Shoot, I'm screwed if Gramps finds out; he'll immediately try to find out what I'm hiding

Part 2

After Arthur's intense training session with Virion, Tessia forces him to take a break and explore the Elven capital. Arthur reluctantly agrees, knowing that Tessia will tell Gramps if he doesn't

As we strolled through the bustling streets of the Elven capital, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over me since my encounter with Virion. Tessia chattered happily beside me, pointing out various landmarks and interesting shops along the way. Despite her cheerful demeanor, I could tell she was still worried about me.

"I won't really tell my parents or Grandpa about you sneaking out," Tessia said suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence between us.

I froze, the blood draining from my face. If Gramps found out, I was screwed. He'd probably make me train even harder to make up for lost time. But Tessia seemed determined to keep my secret, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards her.

"Thanks," I mumbled, unable to meet her gaze.

We continued our leisurely stroll through the city, sampling some Elven delicacies and admiring the intricate architecture. As we rounded a corner, we ran into Alea Triscan, a guard for the royal family.

Despite her friendly demeanor, I could tell Alea didn't recognize me. In the original timeline, we had only met briefly, but she had been kind to me. I wondered if she remembered that encounter, or if it had been lost to the vagaries of time.

Tessia's POV

As we walked through the city, memories from the another time. I remembered the first time Arthur had taken me to the Elven capital, how we had laughed and explored together like carefree children.I tense forgetting. thinking before Arthur noticed.

So I tried to lighten the mood by pointing out interesting sights and sharing anecdotes from our past adventures, but Arthur remained silent, his brow furrowed in concentration.

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was weighing heavily on his mind, but I didn't want to press him for answers. Instead, I focused on enjoying our time together, hoping that it would help Arthur forget his troubles, at least for a little while.

Back in Arthur's POV:

As we continued our journey through the city, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Despite Tessia's best efforts to cheer me up, I couldn't shake the feeling of foreboding that hung over me like a dark cloud.

But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside, determined to make the most of our time together. Who knew when we would get another chance to explore the Elven capital? And besides, Tessia deserved a break after all she had been through. It hasn't been long since she was kidnapped and she's just a child.

As we wandered through the streets, I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty and grandeur of the city. Despite the chaos and uncertainty that surrounded us, there was still beauty and wonder to be found in the world.

And for now, that was enough.
