The two had been camped out in Lexi's childhood home for two days.
The girl was combing through everything that she could trying to find a lead that might point them in the direction that her family had gone in but so far she had found nothing.
She was currently looking through things on her dad's desk thinking maybe he might have left her some kind of note in the hope that she would find it and find them. Lexi was hyper focused on her task that she didn't even notice the Original walk up behind her.
He laid a hand on her shoulder since she had been sitting there for an hour just reading through papers, but he hadn't realized how much she was focused. The light touch on her shoulder startled her making the brunette girl grab his arm almost instinctively in a tight grip, for a human anyway, Kol winced slightly as an uncomfortable feeling coursed through him. Then his eyes widened when he saw a red glow surrounding Lexi's hand on his wrist.
"Lex, it's just me," he assured.
She dropped his arm "Sorry, you startled me, I was hyper-focused on what I was doing and didn't hear you come in." Then she felt a rush of power flowing through her, and her eyes widened, at the new feeling "woah..."
Kol grinned at the little discovery that was just made, "Lex... do you know what you just did?"
She shook her head, "No... but I feel weirdly different... just slightly anyway."
Kol noticed the candle on the desk it was something the girls had pitched in to get their dad as a gag gift one year since he wasn't really one to like candles but since his girls got it for him he kept it on his desk but it's only been lit twice and Lexi was the one to light it both times.
Kol pushed it toward her. "Okay, so we are going to do a little experiment here..."
She gave him a weird look, "okay?"
"Good, now Lex, look at the candle." She did as he asked and looked at the candle, "Now focus on it, just the candle, nothing else, and say "Phasmatos incendia."
Lexi did what he said, focused on nothing but the candle, and repeated the words not expecting anything to happen, "Phasmatos incendia." she felt a swirl of warmth flood her senses and then the candle lit. Lexi looked at Kol wide-eyed, "What the hell just happened?"
Kol just smirked he now knew that he was right, "Well when I unintentionally startled you, you grabbed my wrist pretty tightly it was as if you hadn't even realized what you did and then I felt an uncomfortable feeling and looked at your hand and it was glowing red, so I had an inkling of what was going on but you lighting that candle like that proved it... you're a witch Lex, not a normal one either a Siphoner, you can siphon the magic out of other things that have it but can't generate it yourself." he offered her his hand, "Take my hand." Lexi grabbed his hand, "now tight grip on my hand and focus." she gripped his hand tighter and focused and the red glow enveloped her hand again.
Lexi dropped his hand in shock "Oh my god..." She was looking at Kol wide-eyed but he was just grinning at her like the best thing in the world just happened in his eyes. "You don't seem the least bit phased by this Kol."
"It's all right Lex... I am going to teach you everything that I know about magic..." he shrugged, "I'm extremely fascinated with any and all types of magic so nope not phased at all at you discovering you can do magic under the right circumstances."
"Fair enough... How do you know so much about magic? From what you've told me so far vampires can't do magic."
The two were now sitting on the couch in the living room, as he explained things to her a bit more, "that is true but I was a witch before I was a vampire which means that, I know quite a bit about magic because of that and when I was turned into a vampire I lost my ability to do magic so I set out to just study and learn about all types of magic even if I couldn't perform it anymore."
