"How can I help you?" A lady on the reception asked.
"Can you tell me the numer of the room where Hiccup Haddock is?" Astrid asked.
"Are you related to him?"
"Well, um, I'm his girlfriend, and this is his daughter." She pointed at Pauline.
"Names?"
"Astrid Hofferson and Pauline Haddock."
"Okay, then. He's in room 173. He's still unconscious."
"Okay. Thank you."

Astrid was sitting at her computer, all alone in the house. There was a full silence. Only the clock on the wall ticked.
"F 33.0 is recurrent depressive disorder, currently mild episode." She read out loud and noted that.
Someone knocked at her door.
"I'm coming." She said and opened the door.
"Mom!" Pauline ran into her arms.
"Hey, sweetheart. How was the day with Dad?"
"It was awesome! We had much fun, and he showed me his drawings! You've gotta see them! They're so cool!" Astrid chuckled at Pauline's excitement.
"Okay, you two little artists. Come in."

"Are you two hungry?" Astrid asked them when they entered the house.
"No, Mom. Thanks. We ate pancakes." Pauline answered.
"Dad, come. I want to show you some of my drawings." She pulled her Dad's hand after her.
"Okay, I'm coming, sweetheart. No need to pull me." Astrid heard everything and couldn't stop laughing.

Yep, still the same dork.

Meanwhile, when Astrid continued studying, Hiccup put Pauline to bed.
"Dad?"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Are you and Mom going to be together again?" Pauline asked, her eyes big.
"Um, I-I... I don't know, honey. That's difficult." Hiccup searched for the right words. He could see Pauline's sad facial expression.
"But that doesn't mean I'm going to leave again. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
"Please, stay with me, Dad..." She whispered something in sleep.
"I will. I promise." Hiccup kissed her forhead and left the room, turning down the lights.

"Hey. Astrid, are you okay?" He asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Why am I even asking? You're not fine. Astrid, we may not be together anymore, but I still can tell when you're tired or overworked." Astrid chuckled at that. Hiccup walked over to her, putting his hands on top of her head.
"And we may not be together anymore, but you're still important to me." He said it and kissed the top of her head. Astrid just sighed.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I just, well, yeah, I missed you so much. All these years. All these years I wished you to here, with me." Astrid whispered. Hiccup just looked her in the eyes for a long time. And then, he just kissed her.
Astrid froze. She didn't know what to do. Should she kiss back? Or should she just pull away?
She decided to kiss back. This was the feeling she might had missed the most.
The kiss wasn't too deep or passionate.
It was just innocent and sweet.
"Wow." Astrid whispered when they pulled away.
"Oh, Gods. Astrid. I'm so sorry. I lost my head. I'm sorry. I-"
"Shut up."
"W-What?" But he didn't get any answer. Just another cute kiss.

"Where do you think you're going?" Astrid asked Hiccup when he got out of the bed.
"Milady, I need to go."
"Five more minutes. Please, Hiccup." She pulled him back into the bed, where he landed above her. He stared to kiss her all over her face. Astrid giggled. She snuggled closer to his chest and put her head right there, where his heart was. She could hear Hiccup's heartbeat. It was so calming.
"I'm so happy to have you back. We both are."
Somehow, they fell asleep again, holding each other close.

"See you next weekend, sweetheart." Hiccup hugged Pauline.
"See you then, Dad." He kissen her  forhead. Then, he stood up.
"Bye, Milady." Hiccup whispered into Astrid's ear when he hugged her, too.
"Bye. See you soon." Astrid said.

But two days later, Astrid got a call from the police. Hiccup was in hospital. A drunk driver crashed into him. Now, the driver died, and Hiccup was lying unconscious in the hospital, no signs of waking up any time soon.
