It was started out a normal day, you awakened in the afternoon, making sure to prepare yourself for yet another's evening's work. Making sure to continuously repeat the comforting words of Sisi in your head; 'Keep your head held high' as you bathed, brushed your hair and put on your robes.
It was still early enough for there not to be any customers and so to pass by the time you began to take a hold of your beloved guqin, and as you were peacefully strumming the strings, a sudden figure burst into your private abode.
"Gong Yi?" you greeted questionably surprised at the abrupt entry.
As if suddenly realising what he had just done he seemed rather embarrassed as a flush began to appear on his cheeks. Nevertheless, these feelings of mortification did not deter him from his original goal.
"It's news about the SunShot Campaign that just came in..."
The guqin no longer occupied your mind as you placed it gently away and got up to approach Gong Yi, apprehension in your steps and expression as you awaited what he had to tell you.
"...It seems that the SunShot campaign has ended..." he said, and fear instantly seized your heart because then who won? What happened to Meng Yao?
Gong Yi seemed to want to open his mouth to say more but then stopped as if deciding another route of action would be better. He grabbed your wrist and began to drag you outside the brothel, of which usually would have been immediately stopped by the madam, but it seemed that she was also preoccupied with something else for she didn't seem to be in.
"Gong Yi?" you questioned, trying to make sense of his sudden actions as he continued to lead you across the town. He opted not to reply but it seemed that you would get your answer soon enough for as you walked further as it seemed that up ahead there was a crowd gathering.
In the centre of it was seemed to be a set of three cultivator disciples dressed in purple robes and the Jiang Sect crest, instantly you knew why it had attracted such a crowd. The one in front cleared his throat, and as if under a spell the curious chattering of the gathered townspeople quietened all at once.
Was this a special power that cultivators had you couldn't help but wonder.
"An official announcement by courtesy of the Jiang Sect" he began before taking out a scroll that must have held important information to reiterate as he continued, "The SunShot campaign has officially ended and all allies in the SunShot campaign have defeated the Qishan Wen Sect. All SunShot campaigner participants will be returning to their households soon, while the Wen remnants are being handled as we speak. There will be no need for alarm, the sects will handle any repercussions and we will continue to protect the citizens. Thank you for your continued support and patience."
Wen remnants are being handled as we speak...
You anxiously bit your lip...what on earth did that mean?
***
The speech was said in a matter-of-fact tone, only stating the important specifics of the matter, and even with the curious glances and mutterings the Jiang Sect members seemed to not want to say anything else for they left soon after.
This of course meant that the entirely of Yunping was in a fervour of heightened curiosity as they actively tried to gleam any other major information from either their relatives or friends from other towns (of which they have been unable to see or contact as freely due to the supervision) or passing cultivators, rouge, minor or major in the next couple of days.
