Y/N = 35

Jin Guangyao always believed himself to be on top of things. This unwavering confidence wasn't a matter of personal preference, but rather out of necessity to survive within the cut-throat world. His astute ability to decipher and foresee the actions of others ensured he was always prepared to tackle any unexpected tun of events.

That was why when he received a letter from one of his trusted subordinates that Sisi had seemingly disappeared from his clutches, he was confused. Jin Guangyao believed that he offered her ample land and comforts, especially more than she could have possibly received in her lifetime. Sisi had no reason to escape, let alone the resources to do so...and yet she did.

He immediately sent along his subordinates to search for her, hoping to get an explanation. Logically, it was not too much of a worry, Sisi was powerless in the grand scheme of things, even if she tried to speak of his father's death to anyone, no-one would believe it.

Sisi didn't even know that he was Meng Yao.

However, even though he was sent no letters about her disappearance, Jin Guangyao had no idea why, but he felt the sudden urge to check up on A-(Y/N).

It was late evening before he finally had the chance to sneak away. Jin Guangyao felt his breath hitch as soon as he caught sight of the empty chambers.

'The library. She must be in the library' he reassured himself, even so it did not stop him from hurriedly rushing in the direction. As soon as he was close enough, his keen senses heard the soft sound of flipping pages, this along with the addition of the light emulating from the library, somewhat settled his heart at ease. He slowly made his way inside, the sliding door giving a loud 'thud' behind him as he approached the source of the light.

"A-Yao" you greeted softly upon seeing him enter the library suddenly, you were seated in your usual alcove with a fire talisman lighting your figure in the background.

"A-(Y/N)" Jin Guangyao's response was swift, his voice resonated with a sense of relief. The tension that had unknowingly gripped him vanished the moment he laid his eyes on you. It was as if a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders, making him feel calmer and more at ease. With a light heart, he slowly approached you and took a seat by your side.

You shifted your weight to rest against his shoulder, setting aside the novel you were just reading, "I did not think I would see you" you murmur happily in response, not at all dissatisfied by the sudden visit, "I thought you were busy with the organisation of the Discussion Conference."

It wasn't a surprising observation, usually when big events, such as the all-sect conference occurred, Jin Guangyao would not often visit due the amount of organisation and coordination they took.

Unable to help himself, Jin Guangyao opened his mouth to teasingly articulate, "Hm? Are you not happy to see me? I can leave if you like", his features spread into a soft mischievous smirk.

Abruptly, you leaned back from his shoulder, and with a soft smile you lightly slapped his shoulder, all the while fixing him with a teasing glare.

"You know that's not what I mean," you remarked, your tone filled with a playful reproach.

Jin Guangyao laughed in response, "I just wanted to see you" he said while titling his head innocently to the side, "Is that so wrong?"

"You're a really smooth talker" you chuckle while using your hand to wave off it off. However, the way your cheeks turned rosy gave away the impact those words had on you. It was endearing to see it, as for some reason no matter how often he told you so, you would react in the same bashful manner each time.
