JUNPEI RAN TOWARDS THE wired fence, panting quietly. his hand gripped onto said fence as his eyes darted around in search. they eventually landed on you. a blush appeared on his cheeks. you looked nice in that baseball uniform..
the loud CRACK of the bat connecting with the ball rang throughout as you ran from base to base.it was often that junpei would show up to your baseball games; he just never sat in the actual bleachers like a normal person would. he would hear mutters of those walking by him, usually calling him a stalker. that was far from the truth, however. you knew that he was there and would even throw a smile his way during the game if you could. it was like your own little thing, just for you and him.
once the game had ended, junpei approached you, a small smile on his face. "you did amazing!" he complimented. "thanks. i'm glad that you missed the part where i fell" you replied, letting out a laugh.

the two of you walked along the road. you walked your bike, not wanting to leave junpei behind by riding it. you and junpei happily talked about stupid movies.
junpei had initially thought that you were working with the bullies to get at him. it was all some elaborate scheme; one of the better looking people at school seemingly defending him from the bullies and getting to him only to shatter his heart. then again, i don't think any man would go that far if it meant his balls had to get hit with a baseball bat.
"we should definitely have a movie night this weekend at my place! just let me know what movies you wanna watch and i'll rent them" you suggested. "y-yeah, that sounds great!" junpei nervously replied. he'd never been inside of your house before; what would it look like? would it be like he imagined?
you both crossed over the short bridge above a pond. you set your bike on the ground and leaned against the railing, admiring the koi fish below you. junpei joined in.
"you know..koi fish can die when they spend too much apart from their loved ones. they get stressed and often starve themselves because they get too scared to come out of their homes" he explained. "really? that's deep.." you spoke, looking to junpei. "yeah..some people are like that too. if someone you really care about goes away, would you just hide away from the world until they return, if they do?" he added.
"i would" you said, now looking back at the fish. "..yeah, me too" junpei spoke as he looked at you. it felt as if the two of you were two koi in a pond; there was a clear connection between you and junpei. "you better not leave out of nowhere. tell me, so i can follow you."
junpei's face turned red as you picked up your bike and began to walk again. the male followed behind. did you really say that? was he just imagining things? or were you just as in love as he was?
the two of you stopped in front of your house. "i'll see you tomorrow, junpei" you said, smiling. you went to open your front door, but was stopped by junpei's voice. "hey, uhm..don't you up and leave without telling me either. y-you can go anywhere in the world and i'll be right there beside you, okay..?" he told you, his tone nervous yet firm. you were speechless, only able to nod at him.
junpei walked off, exhaling. that was definitely a start, he thought.
