Unfamiliar Attraction

Question of Mating

Darius sitting at his desk, looking out the window into the dark thinking about Quinn. A week has passed: Darius has not seen Quinn even though both can feel each other's presence and emotions. They have not physically touched each other; Both have not been able to decide due to business and family commitments. They seem to be passing in the night, and Darius wonders if they are being kept apart. If Darius gets time off, Quinn seems to be busy working and if Quinn gets time off, Darius has meetings with work clients.

The only communication the men have are passionate notes being exchanged. Even though Darius loves getting notes from Quinn it does not replace the passion that they have shared. Darius longs to touch Quinn's body and Quinn longs to touch Darius's body. They can feel the frustration building within each of them. Quinn is having the same thoughts as Darius wondering if something or someone Is keeping them apart. Quinn knows his reputation is not a good one, and wonders if it is that keeping them apart.

Darius and Quinn have both been told they will be attending a business meeting with their fathers, and other important clan members. The day has arrived, and both men prepare alongside their fathers to deal with business reports that are required for the clans. They both feel excited to see each other, will they get a chance to be alone?

Darius arrives with his father Randolph De-Chevalier first, they take their seats and wait for the others to arrive, Darius is excited at the thought of seeing and touching Quinn, but he must try and keep his mind on the business at hand. He sets his area up waiting for the meeting to start, trying to keep his mind busy.

Quinn and his father Marquis De-Glanville arrive a short time later, they also take their seats, Marquis De-Glanville greets Randolph De-Chevalier and they introduce their sons to each other. Both men stood up and walked to each other to shake hands. The touch between them is electrical and their anticipation heightened their senses even more. Darius and Quinn smiled at each other and returned to their seats. They could hardly keep their eyes off each other. Quinn feels the muscle deep in his groin tightens, but he must control his feelings till later when they may get a chance to meet alone. After all these meetings usually have a drinking session attached to them. Where they can discuss any items later.

The meeting started with each member reporting about the business dealings and required assets. All listened and expressed their concerns or wanted improvements, Darius and Quinn took notes for their prospective fathers. Glancing up at each other from time to time exchanging smiles. Both Quinn and Darius seem restless and fidgety trying not to give into the feelings deep in their groins.

Darius whispers to his father "That he needs to get something from the carriage outside",

His father whispers "Hurry up! This is not like you".

A few minutes later Quinn tells his father that "He needs to check on something and he will only be a few minutes" his father frowns and nods. Quinn stands and quickly moves outside.

Once outside Quinn goes to Darius's carriage and climbs into the carriage with him. Darius frowns but Quinn grabs him pulling him closer and passionately kisses him. Darius enjoys his kiss but is worried about getting caught,

Quinn asks, "If he is ashamed of him and his love."

Darius states: "No but I have not told my father yet."

Quinn smiles, "Now is a good time." Quinn just loves to tease Darius when he can.

Darius frowns and begins looking around at his paperwork, finds what he was looking for and motions for Quinn to leave. As Quinn would not get out of the carriage, Darius leaves, leaving him sitting in the carriage. Quinn leaves the carriage and returns to the meeting.

Once back inside, Quinn notices Darius has changed tables and is speaking to a young man, Quinn is not happy as Darius is sitting rather close to him. Quinn is paying more attention to Darius's table than the meeting, his father clears his throat and nudges Quinn. Quinn turns and looks at his father, then starts to take notes again. Quinn keeps looking up at Darius every chance he gets. The meeting is ending, and Quinn has not had the chance to speak to Darius again, he is about to stand and go over to Darius.

His father states, "We are leaving now grab your notebook".

Quinn must leave with his father. Quinn is quiet on the carriage ride home and his father notices his mood change,

He looks at Quinn and asks, "What is going on?"

Quinn answers "Nothing" as he flicks through his notes,

But his father does not accept this answer.

He looks at Quinn and states, "Quinn I know something is up, what is it?" "You argued with young lord Darius?",

Quinn answers "No" "It's not that." After a few minutes

Quinn asks his father, "Can pairing only happen once a year".

His father looked at him and frowned, "Why", "You have never been interested in this before."

Quinn looks at his father and states," I am curious about it".

His Father says, "OK", "No it can happen anytime with the guardian's permission". "Have you met someone you want to be paired with?"

Quinn states, "Maybe. I'll tell you when I am sure".

His father looks at him and mumbles something incoherent. They both become silent again looking out the window of the carriage on the rest of the journey home.
