Ch. 23 - Kill people like hemp
After parting ways with the man and woman, Zhang Jingmo found a nearby inn to stay, drank some wine with beans, and then fell into a drowsy sleep.
Early the next morning, he came out of the inn and walked to the stable to look for his donkey, but when he arrived at the stable, he didn't see his horse.
Upon seeing this, Zhang Jingmo called the waiter and asked him where his donkey had gone.
Seeing Zhang Jingmo's confused look, the waiter's eyes flashed with ridicule, but he said, "Sir, I didn't touch your donkey."
Zhang Jingmo was stunned for two seconds. This time he finally realized that he had been tricked again. He said: "Why are you talking nonsense? Wasn't it the stable where you led my donkey yesterday?"
The waiter said with a smile: "My lord, you can eat this food indiscriminately, but you can't talk indiscriminately. Do you have any evidence to prove that I am leading your donkey?"
Zhang Jingmo stared at the waiter when he heard this, as if he was mad at him. He didn't know how to swear, he could only talk about you and you.
The waiter said: "Sir, do you have anything else to do? I'll go and serve the food first."
Zhang Jingmo held it in for a long time before saying, "Why do you look so much like the waiter at the restaurant next door!"
The waiter was delighted when he heard this and said: "Hey, sir, you are really right. The waiter in the restaurant opposite is my brother!"
Zhang Jingmo: "..."
Zhang Jingmo's back and forth with the waiter had attracted the attention of many people in the inn. When he left the inn with a sad face, many people sitting in the inn showed subtle looks.
A handsome but ignorant young man appears alone in this deserted border city. He is either a perfectly disguised hungry wolf or a rare fat sheep.
After Zhang Jingmo came out of the inn, he seemed to be completely disappointed with the city. He went directly to the inn, wanting to buy a horse and leave here. Unexpectedly, the little official at the inn seemed to have received some news and saw Zhang Jingmo coming to buy it. The horse immediately opened his mouth and demanded the sky-high price of ten taels of gold.
Zhang Jingmo was extremely angry, but seemed afraid to fight with others, so the look of grievance on his face became more intense, and he left the inn angrily. As soon as he left the inn, he met the man and woman who reminded him yesterday. They were leading two horses and walking out. Seeing that they were carrying packages on their backs, they seemed to want to travel far.
When Zhang Jingmo saw the two of them, he didn't care about his face and hurriedly stepped forward and shouted: "Girl, are you leaving the city?"
The woman was a little surprised to see Zhang Jingmo here. She said, "What's wrong? Why are you here too?"
When Zhang Jingmo heard this, he told his story in detail. When the woman heard this, she was both angry and amused. She said, "Your master actually lets you go out alone without any worries?"
Zhang Jingmo said helplessly: "He did tell me a lot of things, but... nothing he said was of any use."
The woman asked: "What did he say?"
Zhang Jingmo said: "He said you must remember to pay before taking things."
The woman showed a speechless expression. She turned to look at her brother, who was still expressionless, with a look of pleading.
