The silence stretched on between them like an unbreakable thread, Book felt a pang of guilt gnawing at the edges of his conscience. He knew he owed Force an explanation, a glimpse into the life he had been living in the years they spent apart. Summoning his courage, Book finally spoke up, his voice tentative yet determined.

"So, Force," Book began, his gaze fixed on the road ahead as he sought the words to express the thoughts that had been weighing heavily on his mind, "what have you been up to these past few years?"

Force's face lit up with a radiant smile at the question, his eyes shining with a sense of pride and excitement that was contagious. "Actually," he replied, his voice tinged with excitement, "I've recently been accepted into the police force."

Book's heart skipped a beat at the revelation, a wave of conflicting emotions washing over him like a tidal wave. On one hand, he couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness for his friend, proud of the achievements that Force had worked so hard to accomplish. But beneath the surface, a sense of guilt simmered like a dormant volcano, threatening to erupt at any moment.

"That's incredible, Force," Book said, forcing a smile onto his face as he struggled to contain the turmoil swirling within him, "I'm really happy for you."

Force's smile widened at the genuine warmth in Book's voice, a sense of gratitude washing over him like a gentle tide. "Thanks, Book," he replied, his voice filled with sincerity as he reached out to squeeze Book's hand in his own, "it means a lot to me."

Despite the joy that filled the air between them, Book couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at the edges of his consciousness. He longed to share his own triumphs and struggles with Force, to unburden himself of the secrets that weighed heavily on his heart. But he knew that some truths were meant to remain hidden, locked away in the depths of his soul where no one could reach them.

With a heavy heart, Book let the conversation lapse into silence once more, the weight of their unspoken words hanging heavy in the air as they continued their journey into the unknown, each lost in their own thoughts and fears.
