~ our promises~

Adelaide laid on her bed with John above her with only his trousers on the both of them laid there making out, everything had felt right in that moment even though it was a messy way to start but the both of them couldn't help themselves, even if Adelaide couldn't admit it she really loved John she just needed time, John on the other hand really wanted or love her but he was scared that she wouldn't like him back, he had never been so smitten for someone before but he believed no he knew that Adelaide was the one and he made a vow that he would protect her and would never give up on her and lover till 'death do us part' he wanted to stick to those words and wanted to be there for her in the good times and the bad times, the rough times and the amazing moments.

As Adelaide kisses john she felt safer it was like the first kiss but this one actually felt real and it was like a secret that was sealed and she felt like she was meant to be loved by john, she just didn't know how to love him but she loved him but she really wasn't ready or maybe she was, she really couldn't quite understand why she wanted to love him so for now she was just going to try understand and learn how to.

Unknown to John and Adelaide, the door to her bedroom slowly opened the person who opened the door happened to be Adelaide's mother, the women stopped in her tracks before clearing her throat, John got up so fast that he fell onto the floor Adelaide sat up and looked towards the door hoping it wasn't her father, luckily it was her mother well wasn't really lucky but at least she wouldn't be scarred for life, John stood up quickly with Adelaide stood beside him "well that was not what I was expecting but anyway, your brothers are awaiting for the both of you" she said as she put her hands together in front of her, john looked over at his wife as he rubbed his hand on his neck, it was now very awkward in the girls room, Adelaide shook her head before grabbing her suitcases "John can you put your shirt back on and help me with the bags please" she said as she walked out of her bedroom door and walking down the stairs and outside were the car awaited her

John quickly piled his shirt on and tucked it in "you better treat her right" a voice said John looked over at Adelaide's mother he nodded "you have my word Mrs Montgomery" he said Adelaide's mother shook her head "no please call me Margret" she said as she held her hand over her chest chuckling a little John nodded "thanks Mrs-no sorry Margret" John said as he shook his head and picked up the two suitcases and left Margret in the room and made his way down the stairs and outside the door

As John stepped out of the Montgomery home he saw Adelaide stood beside the car which had been gifted to him by her father he looked down at her and made his way down towards her he opened the boot and put the suitcases in, shutting it he walked around the car and opened the door for his wife she climbed in he shut the door and walked around to the the front and got in turning the car on and drove off, Adelaide looked back at her home as they drove off leaving her family home behind her she looked back to the road ahead, John looked over to her and grabbed her hand interlacing them and pulled her hand upto his lips and placed a soft kiss on them before letting it go again

Adelaide climbed out of the car but before her feet touched the ground she was picked up of her feet bridal style and John looked down at her with a smile she looked back and pulled him into her kissing him he walked into the house and placed her onto  her feet and stood behind her holding her waist as she stared at the the living room and kitchen "this is our home" John said as he leaned against Adelaide's back with his hands on her waist she smiled  a little whilst leaning her back against his chest, she turned her body around to face John she pulled him in for another kiss but before she could even kiss him a knock at the door stopped them, John looked at the door in confusion he made his way towards it and opened it, Tommy stood before him with Arthur beside him "there you are John" Tommy said "we're did you disappear of to" arthur asked "I was helping Adelaide with something" he said tommy nodded

"What's going on" Adelaide asked as she pushed the door open a bit more so she could see who stood at the door, stood before her was Arthur and Thomas she looked up at john and back to the men infront of her "Ada's gone into labour" Tommy said johns eyes widen and he quickly turned around and grabbed his suit jacket leaving Adelaide at the door "we're is she" she asked Tommy looked at her for a moment before answering "just across the road" he said Adelaide nodded and walked back into her new home and grabbed her coat before making her leave before she could leave she felt a hand on her wrist she looked down at her wrist before looking up at her husband "we're you going" he asked "I'm off to help with your sister" she said he shook his head causing Adelaide to scoff "I'll be okay alright" she said John thought for a moment before nodding "fine but don't be home late" he said she nodded before making her leave again, John pulled her back and kissed her she pulled away before leaving and running across the road towards the house and knocked

The door opens to reveal a older looking women "Im Adelaide" she said before she could say anything else polly grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside "polly" Ada yelled "Adelaide can you grab me some towels please and quickly" polly said Adelaide nodded her head and ripped her coat off before running upstairs and looking  for towels, she looked through multiple cupboards before she finally found them she grabbed as many as she could before running downstairs and towards were she heard moaning and screams of who she assumed to be Ada.

Adelaide walked into the room and rushed over to polly who sat before Ada looking at were the baby was coming from and helping her "Adelaide I'm so sorry that you have to do this on your wedding night" ada said as she panted looking at Adelaide "it's okay, it happens okay and this is better than what I thought would happen" she said trying to make Ada feel happy 'was she angry?' No
So she just had to say something so Ada could focus on delivering her baby,

" alright push" polly shouted over Ada's moaning she began pushing but nothing was happening Adelaide placed her hand over Ada's belly " I think it's the wrong way round" she said looking down at polly, who looked up at her " okay Ada we're gonna have to change positions" she said as her and Adelaide helped Ada with getting onto all fours polly now stood behind her as she turned the baby, ada began groaning again Adelaide sat before ada " now listen ada, I want you to listen to me carefully okay" Adelaide said ada nodded " right when I say push I want you to push as hard as you can"she said causing ada to nod again " right ada are you ready?" Polly asked ada nodded " right push" Adelaide said ada did what Adelaide said and began pushing "again" polly said ada pushed again " right two more pushes and your baby will be here dear ada" Adelaide said as she placed a hand on her shoulder "push ada" poly said ada did what was said and pushed again "one last big push for me ada" polly said ada nodded and pushed the headrest she has ever before

Silence was the only thing that was heard until suddenly a loud cry echoed throughout the Shelby home ada leant back against the chair as she Panted "it's a boy Ada" poly said as she handed the baby to Adelaide who wrapped the baby in a blanket before handing the baby to her, Ada held the baby against her chest whilst looking down at him "what are you going to call him" Adelaide asked "Karl his names Karl" Ada said as she smiled at polly and Adelaide before looking down at her baby
