twelfth: missed calls

When they met, it was like a storm meeting its eye, for

His storm fell to nothing before her.

He charmed her, swayed her heart in the breeze.

Found her strength, tore her pain to pieces

Before her eyes, those scraps of ill health fell to the ground.

She thought she would never run out of him,

But then their spark fell out of favour,

And she chose between her happiness, her health and her life, or him.

Even though it was a long-set scar, it still hurt sometimes.

She missed his laugh, she missed his calls

She was sorry for the chance she left behind,

But she would never regret the choice she made.
