A few days passed since our argument. Cade was still trying to figure what exactly happened that night. Dean, on the other hand, was convinced that he was wasting his time.
No one can find out what happened that night. There is too much at risk.
Why couldn't Cade just drop it? Why was this so important to him?
I needed to do something to stop him. He can't go digging for answers. If he meets her then everything would become a complete mess.
A knock broke me from my trail of thoughts. I looked up and saw Martha entering.
"Good morning dear." She said in her motherly tone.
"Good morning." I answered.
"Breakfast is ready. Everyone is waiting for you downstairs." She informed me.
"Everyone?"
"Well, everyone except Eli, Ronan and Jason."
They had gone on another reunion with their high school friends.
"Okay, I'm coming."
After I got ready, I went downstairs where my brothers were waiting for me.
"Good morning." I mumbled. They all responded with a 'good morning' and then went to eat their meal.
I couldn't though. I just sat there playing with my food. My mood was completely ruined by the fear of Cade actually finding something.
Chase seemed to pick on me not eating because he gave me a look that clearly said to start eating.
I ignored him.
And him being his annoying self couldn't keep his mouth shut.
"Why aren't you eating?"
"Because I don't want to." I responded.
"You need to eat." He continued. Everyone was looking at us or should I say me by now.
"Says who?"
"The doctor. Apparently not eating breakfast is a serious threat to your health." Chase commented.
I scoffed at that.
"If this was your way of convincing me to eat, you failed miserably."
"Whatever, sorry for thinking about my sister's health."
The number of time I have heard this excuse is unbelievable. Now, Eli and Jason are the only brothers that haven't used it on me yet.
I rolled my eyes and got up.
"Where are you going?" Cade asked me.
"School." I said in a 'duh' tone.
"We're coming with you." Cade pointed at Dean and him. Dean looked at him confused. It was clear he didn't know what our triplet was talking about.
"No, thanks."
"I didn't ask for your opinion. I was merely stating a fact." Cade pushed.
Dean and him got up and were walking to the door. I sighed and went after them.
"Just so you know, Gemma's picking me up." I hoped that they would change their mind by the mention of Gemma but they surprised me yet again.
"I don't have a problem with it." Cade answered. "What about you, Dean?"
"It's fine by me." Dean shrugged.
