//Age 13//

                    Winter

Percy was back at Annabeth's house, sitting in his mom's brand new car she'd bought last summer. How the game found out about it, and exactly the way his mom drove, Percy wasn't going to question.

He remembered that year's summer, when Thalia had shown up one day on the doorstep. As far as he understood the story, she'd lived here when she was 12, and left the next year. Then she was coming back now.

The weirdest thing was though, that the game made Thalia look quite younger than she really was. Maybe the game changed it because technically she was aging like a tree? At least, that's what he thought Annabeth had said.

Thalia was, in real life, 18 years old. The game only made her look like she was 15 or 16. According to Apollo, she was turning 16 the next week.

Then Annabeth (in the game, of course) fell down a cliff with the manticore. It was one of the times he wished the game didn't hide what other's saw from every other player, or wouldn't he have just loved to be able to rescue her quickly.

Percy didn't like that Zoe had picked Bianca, a new hunter with nearly no experience, for a quest on which everybody might die. Granted, she did end up dying, and her brother Nico ended up opening up a canyon in camp, and that he didn't appreciate the statue of his dad she died for, on top of the fact that he hated Percy. But that was a different matter altogether.

Even though Thalia and Percy had their differences, they still had some things in common. Like how they both weren't a big fan of the current lieutenant of the Hunters, Zoe Nightshade. Or how they both shared that 'dam' joke, which left them and Grover cracking up till no end.

When Percy was holding up the sky, his knees buckled under the weight. But he knew it was necessary for Atlas to be defeated. And well, there were both the pros and cons about it.

He was left pretty tired for the next few days, and slept for 30 hours straight once he crashed on the bed. But then, at least Atlas was forced under his pile of sky and rocks, and he earned Artemis's respect. So hey, definitely did more good than harm. Oh, and he couldn't forget his game self even got a silver steak matching Annabeth's.

Percy wondered how the game wasn't tired of changing how Thalia kept aging. First, she was a tree, and aged slowly. But after Zoe's death, Artemis needed a new Lieutenant, and Thalia decided to take that mantle. So she won't age anymore. And won't get sick. And can only die in battle. In the game, at least.

How brilliant. First, Annabeth kept waiting for years to get a quest. Then as soon as she invites her new friend over to play with her, she suddenly starts getting quest after quest. Then she has to lead a quest in a terrifying labyrinth that could kill them all.

'How wonderful. Just awesome.'

Percy's words, not hers.

On a different note, Thalia bought her own system, so just like Luke, she was playing the game remotely too. Annabeth wondered what she did with the hunters. Most of them were real players from across the globe. She really wanted to find out how the creators made the game to even work in the background when the actual person's not playing.

She only knew that because Thalia had told her she'd left the game for a few hours only to find out the campfire was over, it was the next morning and Artemis was telling them to pack up. Annabeth really wanted to know how the game worked.

Back to the topic, ADHD could be a nuisance sometimes.

The quest.

The quest through a dangerous labyrinth created by her (in-game) long-dead half-brother Daedalus. That guy was a real genius. She'd read all the stories. From the Minotaur, to Perdix, to Icarus, to Crete. Every single one. She hoped they'd be some help in navigating the labyrinth.

No. Just no. Annabeth was not going to let a mortal, of all people, to go on this quest. Even if it was in the game, Annabeth was worried she was going to steal her crush's heart. That girl who went to the same school as Percy, was not coming on a quest like this one.

Annabeth still couldn't believe Percy was the one who came up with the idea. And on the topic of that guy: blowing up a mountain! Gate-crashing his own funeral! Getting lost for two weeks!

Annabeth had a sneaking suspicion about where Percy went. Ogygia, island of Calypso, daughter of Atlas. Another candidate to steal her crush's heart.

Of course, she wasn't really entirely sure if she wanted to speak up. What if Percy didn't feel about her the same way? What if it ruins their friendship entirely?

And of course, how could she have completely forgotten the fact that Grover and Tyson were missing and that the god of the wild could possibly be hidden in the very same labyrinth they were in for thousands of years.

In the end, she had to give in. Rachel Elizabeth Dare was coming on her quest. Not to much of her liking, though.

The Battle of the Labyrinth.

They won the battle, but it took several lives in the process. Including Daedalus, in his sort-of-redemption-arc. He sacrificed himself to destroy the labyrinth, so Luke's monsters stopped coming.

What could Percy say? The game was messed up as hell, alright. But hey, that's all the fun. He really needed a tin-foil cap, the game was reading his brain more than he'd like. He'd rather not have his new, better, stepfather part of the game.

But he had a good laugh when he saw himself push him against the wall and interrogate him. He definitely did not do something similar in real life too, that would be so weird, right?

Done with part 2. Part 3 will be out in the next two weeks, but it will be shorter because it'll only contain The Last Olympian. Hope you enjoyed!
