You awoke to a knock on the door to the room you were staying in. You heard a soft voice, you recognized it to be the blonde woman from yesterday.

"(Y/n), wake up, please. Commander Erwin needs you," the woman spoke.

You got up and opened the door, standing taller than the woman.

"You said Commander Erwin needed me?"

"Yes. Let's go, I'll take you right now," the woman said as she dragged you out of the room. "My name is Petra Ral, by the way. I'm a member of the Special Operations Squad, of the Levi Squad."

You simply nodded at her as she brought you to Commander Erwin's office. You knocked, and opened the door upon hearing a sound of approval.

"Ah, (Y/n), you're awake!"

"That, I am Commander."

"Oh, please, call me Erwin, we're a little past the pleasantries."

"Alright then, Erwin, what did you need?"

"It's time to fulfill your enlistment. Are you certain you wish to join the Cadet Corps and become a Scout?"

"I'm certain, sir. I'll fight alongside you."

"Then, so be it. You will be entered into expedited training so that you will graduate at the same time as all the others in the 104th. There is a wagon out front to take you to the academy. Good luck, solider."

You nodded and left to the wagon. As soon as you got on, the wagon left. You saw many sights as passed through cities and eventually just dense plain-lands. You eventually came to a halt at a gated area. Then the driver told you to get off. You did so and walked to the gate. You encountered a bald-headed man at the gate.

"You must be the new recruit? (Y/n), correct?"

"Yes, that is me, sir."

"Alright here's your uniform, follow me," he handed you a jacket that had two crossed swords on the back, seeing as you already had military clothes on. "Erwin is having me expedite your training. This means it will be rigorous. You will work 'till you drop and then work some more. You have to be battle ready in five days. You'll get 4 hours of sleep, max, and you won't complain. You're out here ready at 5 am, and head back in at 1 am. You get one meal a day."

You simply nodded he brought you to what seemed to be a cabin, "This is your dorm. You get to be special since you joined so late. You start tomorrow. Be ready and out by 5."

You awoke the next morning at 4:45 am, you had 15 minutes to get dressed and get out. You did exactly that and met the man at the center of the complex.

"My name is Instructor Shadis. I am your training instructor. I make sure that when you get into battle, you either die quick, die in glory, or live to tell the tale."

It's now after training and to say you're exhausted is an understatement. He let you off at midnight so you could eat. You walked into the mess hall and saw all the other cadets. They seemed to have no idea who you were.

"Hey, who are you? I've never seen you here before," the horse-looking one asked you.

"I'm new. Erwin is having me train here until graduation."

"You're graduating with us? In 4 days? That's insane. Have fun being titan food."

The rest left you alone.

You repeated this cycle everyday. You actually became extremely skilled in your training. Shadis said you were the strongest he's ever seen in a cadet.

Erwin arrived during your training to oversee it a little, he was impressed to say the least. You showed an amount of power to rival Levi, a man you haven't even met.

It's now after training on the last day. You get your food and sit down to eat. All of a sudden, Erwin bursts in with a short man with black hair. All the cadets stand up to salute him, including you. It's one of the many things you picked up. They walk over to you and the smaller one begins inspecting you.

"So this is him? This is the cadet that has shown so much promise? Not bad," the shorter man remarks.

"Yes. This is (Y/n), future Scout," Erwin states.

"Well then, I guess formal introductions are due. I am Captain Levi, I head the Special Operations Squad. I've been told you'll be promoted straight to Captain once you graduate. Congratulations are in order."

"I am?"

"Yes, sorry (Y/n), I was coming to tell you that right now," Erwin replied, chuckling.

"Oh, well, thank you for the honor Erwin. But, why the quick promotion?"

"You deserve it. You've shown the most promise out of any recruit Shadis has seen before. You're second only to Levi. Thus, it'd make no sense to have you under the command of someone inferior in ability."

"Wow, then, thank you Erwin."

"Of course, (Y/n). Now I'll let you get some rest, after all you have graduation tomorrow. Speaking of which, since you're already going to be a Scout, please join me on stage for when I give my speech" You agreed, then they left.

It was now graduation day. Today, all of the 104th would be choosing which of the three regiments they devote their lives to.

You're currently standing on stage with Commander Erwin as he delivers his speech to the cadets, Levi and Hange are with you, too.

"Hello, cadets. I am Erwin Smith, as many of you already know. I am Commander of the Survey Corps. I am here to simply ask you to devote your hearts, and lives, to the continued survival of humanity. I ask that you use the Attack on Trost District as motivation to join us to help us fight this evil. If you do not wish to do that, you may leave."

Many walked away, but some stayed. You recognized them. They are now your future comrades.

"Are you willing to die?" Levi called out them.

"I don't want to die, sir!" A cadet shouted.

"You don't want to, but it's very likely soldiers," Hange interjected. The cadets began to look fearful, "I'm only joking, as long as you're quick and keep up you might make it back from the expedition!" Hange laughed.

"Oh lord," Levi sighed quietly. You chuckled.

"So be it. Give a proper salute! Give your hearts to humanity!" Erwin shouted.

An unsure war-cry and salute came from the cadets as they pledged themselves to the Scouts.
