Upon entering HQ, you were greeted by a guard. He informed you that Commander Erwin had asked for you.

You obliged and went up to his office. Upon arriving at his office, Levi, Hange, and Erwin were all talking. They stopped when they saw your presence.

Erwin: (Y/n)! Nice to see you, I suggest you sit down.

(Y/n): If this is about what I said to Commander Nile, I want to apologize. I understand I was out of line-

Hange: Oh no, (Y/n). From what I heard you were in the right. This has nothing to do with that. So, please sit down.

Agreeing, you sat down at the nearest seat at Erwin's large oval table. Next to you, Levi sat, while across were Erwin and Hange.

(Y/n): So if this isn't about Nile, what is it about?

Turning to you, Levi spoke.

Levi: Well, we haven't been entirely truthful with you.

This caused you to turn to Levi, confused.

Erwin: We knew your true identity when we met you beyond Wall Rose. Levi asked us not to say anything to test a suspicion of why you were out there.

Hange: When I initially met you I checked to see if you knew who you were. Of course, you didn't. This confirmed what Levi had suspected: you lost your memories and had somehow ended up outside Wall Rose. Now, this is obviously what you know, but what you didn't know is how we, or rather Levi, knew you.

Levi: Before you were discovered, we were... well, dating. You were my boyfriend, as I was yours. I knew so much about you. So, upon seeing you outside Wall Rose, we assumed you had managed to survive without your gear. Obviously, we came to this conclusion while you were with Erwin, on our way back to Trost.

(Y/n): Why would I have even been out of Wall Rose to begin with?

Hange: That's what confused us. You were formerly a Scout as well. You were apart of Levi's squad. After we returned, you were to get your own squad. Originally, we watched a titan grab you, before we were forced to flee. We never saw it eat you, but under normal circumstances, it would've. Thus, we of course assumed it did.

Erwin: For some reason, it didn't, or you survived it. We're not really sure.

(Y/n): I-I don't remember any of this. I really wouldn't know, I'm sorry.

Levi: That's fine. We didn't expect you to. I do have a proposition for you, though. Would you let me teach you about yourself? You don't have to love me, I don't expect you to, but just let me help you relearn who you are. I'll give you everything I know about you, please.

Levi looked hopeful, that he might just get to experience things with you again, even as friends. Having you around was enough for him.

(Y/n): Levi, I really don't know...I can't guarantee I'll find those feelings for you again, and I don't want to hurt you.

Levi: You won't hurt me. I know what I'm getting into, I don't expect you to love me again. I just want to help you, (Y/n).

(Y/n): Fine. But seriously Levi, if I hurt you, you should leave me. I can relearn myself on my
own if needed. Don't let me hurt you.

At this, Levi smiled. You still cared about his feelings even after forgetting him. He put his hand on yours in a comforting manner. Breaking the silence, Hange cleared her throat.

Hange: Sorry, to break the moment but there is another matter at hand. (Y/n), upon finding you, your ODM gear was missing, your clothes were old-looking and tattered. Additionally, that titan that had grabbed you from when we previously saw you was nowhere to be seen. Do you know what happened to you?

(Y/n): I really don't remember anything. I woke up to that titan when Erwin saved me, that's the earliest memory I have.

Erwin, thought on this and brought you four outside. You all got on your horses and Hange led you to an open field a little way from the Scout Headquarters. Levi took all your horses and hitched them on a nearby post. Erwin looked at you sympathetically before speaking.

Erwin: Sorry (Y/n).

Before you could understand what he meant you were surrounded by Levi's Squad. The squad had their blades drawn and were in a fighting stance. They had formed a loose circle around you. Levi, Hange, and Erwin stood behind them looking at it. Hange and Erwin had sad looks, like they regretted having to do this. Levi looked furious. It seemed as if the short man was ready to fight his own squad, or you, you couldn't tell.

(Y/n): What are you doing?! I haven't done anything!

Hange: I'm sorry (Y/n), but we have to test this. We're counting on being right so we don't lose one of the best Scouts. Go ahead Petra!

Right after Hange's order, Petra launched at you and slit your throat. She soon returned to her spot as everyone got further away.

(Y/n) (gasping for breath): I trusted you Hange! How could you?!

This brought tears to Hange's eyes. She turned away as you soon lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Your last moments of vision were of Levi running towards you, and holding your head so it didn't hit the ground.

You slowly opened your eyes, taking in the dim light around you. You quickly adjusted and realized you were lying on the cold ground in what appeared to be a cell. You had to ask yourself: why weren't you dead? You felt your neck and felt scar where the gash would have been. You attempted to stand up before feeling the cold chains around your arms and legs. You were quickly interrupted by a cold, stoic voice.

Levi: You're up. At least we know you can heal yourself.

(Y/n): Levi? Did they send you to kill me if I lived? God. I can't believe I trusted ANY of you. You attacked me! You all tried to KILL ME!

Levi kneeled down to you, pulling you to sit up.

Levi: Calm down. I hated the idea. I refused to do it and almost withheld my squad from doing it when they got ordered to by Hange and Erwin. With tensions high with that Female Titan, everyone's trying to find traitors. Sadly, they turned to you. That being said, they're going to let you continue to be a Scout. Your only change is that they've disbanded your squad. They moved you to mine and you've taken Eld's position. You'll be a Corporal still, but you'll be my second-in-command. It's the best I could get you, I'm sorry. They wanted someone to watch over you.

(Y/n): At least it's you. If it was either of them I might've just killed them myself.

Levi: I'm not supposed to, but do you want me to remove your chains? I would let you out of the cell, too, but they'd have my head.

(Y/n): Please? Sleeping like this would be awful.

Wordlessly, Levi unlocked the chains and removed them from your wrists and ankles. You immediately stretched them and felt instant relief. This was soon cutoff by another question from the Captain.

Levi: Do you want me to stay with you? These cells can be rather depressing and lonely.

(Y/n): You can go. I don't entirely feel safe with the possibility of them having you kill me.

This seems to stuck a nerve. Maybe you shouldn't have said you feel unsafe? After all he was still in love with you. Getting up, Levi simply nodded. He walked out of the cell. Shortly after, you succumbed to sleep. At least if they killed you, you would be asleep.
