A random plotless, completely fictional one shot with the entire family💗
After a two month long tour in South Africa, team India were finally returning back to their respective families. They had some time off before their next series started, and all the team members were super excited to go back home.
Virat who was obviously sitting beside Rohit in the flight, nudged him and whisper yelled, "Ro."
Meanwhile Ro, who was obviously about to fall asleep, sat upright with a sudden jerk. When he realized it was none other than his sleep repelled best friend, Rohit smacked his arm and replied, "What is your problem Vi? Tour pe bhi sone nahi diya, abhi bhi nahi de raha. Why do you hate my sleep so much, man?"
Virat rolled his eyes and said, "Oye drama king, why do you sleep so much then?"
Rohit smiled and said, "Because sleep is necessary, Vi. Though you won't understand since you are a human owl."
Virat scowled as Rohit continued, "See, you even scowl like an owl."
Virat hit him on his head as Rohit burst out laughing. "If I am an owl, you- you are a hibernating bear."
Before Rohit could retort, Mahi who was sitting behind them, said in a very sharp voice, "Enough both of you, what are you now, kindergarten kids? Though honestly they will behave better than you. One more word from either of you and I am going to exchange your seats."
Rohit and Virat did pass angry glares at each other but were seemingly silent for the rest of the flight because they didn't want Mahi bhai to be angry with them and not because they didn't want to sit with anyone else for their temporary last flight.
Mahi noticing their expressions couldn't help but laugh softly. He knew very well that Cheeku just wanted to stir up a stupid fight with Ro, to avoid admitting that he was going to miss him, and Ro too joined whole heartedly in the stupid banter. It was the same process, always, after every tour, what was it last time, Mahi wondered, oh yes, Rohit was a tortoise and Virat was a velociraptor because Rohit had just watched Jurassic park with Sammy, and velociraptor was the first thing that had come to his mind.
As the elder brother watched his two younger brothers sitting before him, a fond smile appeared on his face as he remembered the two of them randomly appearing in his room at nights, demanding coffee and some alone time with their favourite brother. Mahi didn't tell them, but all these small moments with the two, were something that he cherished and missed, a lot after tours. He watched Rohit's head dropping on Virat's shoulders and Virat adjusted his head comfortably so that he does not get back pain. Mahi chuckled and resumed reading his book, this time in peace.
As the flight landed and the announcement had been made, Hardik said loudly, "We're home, guys."
Rohit noticed the way Virat quickly hid his sadness under the usual goofy grin. His eyes softened, while his heart humbled like it did each time, when he realizes that he was as important to his best friend, as his best friend was to him. Virat, was his brother and one of the most important person in his life. As Mahi bhai said, they had practically grown up together so they knew the other, better than themselves. They took care of each other in the most weirdest of ways, all the while fighting like siblings and giving Mahi all of the grey hair the poor man possessed right now.
As they gathered their luggage Virat said, "Rohit, check once more if you have taken everything. Else Ritsy will kill you."
Hardik added, wagging his eyebrows mischievously, "Yes Ro, do check once more or else Ritika bhabhi might kick you out of the house even before you enter."
Virat roared with laughter and fist bumped Harry saying, "Good one Har!"
Jassi hit Harry's head and said, "Shut up Harry, Ritika bhabhi will never do anything like that even if Rohit bhaiya forgets anything."
