I was in the midst of blending herbal tea for Katherine when a pair of unexpected hands covered my eyes from behind. Instinctively, I grasped the hands to free myself, immediately recognizing them as Romeo's. His breath grazed my neck as he whispered, "Hey, pretty... Missed me?" in a tone that sent shivers down my spine.

"Romeo, let go of me or I'll scream," I warned, feeling a surge of panic. He pulled me towards my bed, pinning me down and muffling my protests with his hand. "I want you... to be my test subject," he declared with a smirk, causing my eyes to widen in fear. I was rendered speechless, unable to scream for help.

Suddenly, we heard footsteps approaching, followed by a knock on the door. "Rosaline? Are you busy?" Juliet's voice called out.

"Sorry, Juliet! I'm... busy," I managed to yell after Romeo reluctantly released his grip on my mouth. Juliet's footsteps retreated, leaving me trembling in fear.

"Okay..." she sighed, her voice fading away as she walked off.

"It's odd," he said out of the blue.

"Odd what?" I inquired, curious about his sudden remark.

"You never noticed that both Juliet and I died on the same day?" he asked, a sinister grin spreading across his face. His words sent a chill down my spine.

"Did you ever suspect there might be a connection?" he taunted, his tone dripping with malice. I refused to indulge his twisted wordplay.

"In the midst of my grief, I didn't have the capacity to think about such things. Did you... do something to her... 'Death'?" I questioned, trying to suppress the rising dread within me.

"Juliet hasn't enlightened you yet?" he chuckled darkly.

"Told me what?" I pressed, my curiosity piqued.

"I'm her lover, and she knew about us," he revealed casually, but his words shattered my heart in an instant. My ex-betrothed and cousin—entangled in such a devastating revelation.

"So you cheated on me?" I asked, my voice trembling with the weight of the question. Deep down, I already knew the painful truth.

"Don't ask rhetorical questions," he retorted coldly, his indifference cutting through me like a knife. I choked back a sob, feeling tears stream down my cheeks uncontrollably.

"Did you even love me?" I implored, my eyes swollen and red from crying.

"No," he admitted bluntly, his expression hardening into a frown as he met my gaze head-on.

"I gave you everything—my purity, my love, my heart! And you betrayed me with my own cousin?!" I screamed, the betrayal and hurt fueling my anger.

"I trusted you... We were on the verge of getting married... How could you just choose her over me? Wasn't I enough?" I questioned, my voice cracking with emotion.

"You'll never be enough for anyone," he spat venomously, his words like daggers plunging into my wounded heart. "Your parents see you as a disappointment, society views you as a disgrace, and you'll never find a husband with those kids of yours. You're just so unlovable," he continued, his cruelty tearing me apart like a dog ripping into its chew toy.

"I'm... unlovable?" I echoed, my voice barely a whisper as the weight of his words settled in, crushing what little remained of my shattered heart.

"You've ruined yourself... Juliet's younger, yet she had enough self-respect to hold onto her purity," he declared, crossing his arms with a judgmental air.
