as the song came to an end, zara's eyes were still glued to the man in front of her. she tried to ignore how much she seeked for landos approval, instead focusing on his expression. this song was a way that she could get some of her past 'baggage', as some would call it, off of her chest. it was like a rant but also acted as somewhat of a confession. she was confessing how weak she could become if someone had a hold on her heart, and how she falls easily if you give her enough attention.

that's what had happened to zara, and she was at a point where she could admit that it had happened a multitude of times. if someone gave her enough attention then she would grow attached to the love and she would condition herself to look past all of the red flags that person held. she was just like a little girl when it came to love. naïve and helpless.

but she was getting better. she was beginning to see more of her self worth. or she'd like to think she was.

lando held a blank expression on his face, somehow making the girl even more nervous of his critiques. a small frown played with his features as he looked from the spot on the floor that had held his gaze, up to meet zara's impatient eyes. she was picking her nails, the anticipation killing her.

"it's fine"

that was all he said before he got up out of the seat and made his way towards the door in the room.

zara's lips parted slightly and her eyebrows raised. she was shocked. how was that all he had to say? did he not like it? did he think it was terrible? was he judging her? why was he leaving? the girl being too caught up in her thoughts didn't move her gaze from where landos body had occupied the love seat mere moments ago.

lando looked back at the girl, a smirk painting his lips at her expression "try not to be so loud", was all he said before opening the door and leaving the room, closing it behind him. the driver then went back into the welcoming living room and sat back down on the sofa.

zara had concluded that the song was in fact 'fine', and it didn't need any further alterations otherwise she might ruin it. she had talked to gina about it and they had decided that she should release the song either the next day (tuesday) or wednesday. she would be announcing her tour tomorrow and then she would have her first performance on monday, the day after the race.

when she had left her recording room she went towards her kitchen and was surprised to see lando sat on her sofa
"i thought you went home?"

lando turned towards her voice, seeing her stood in the space between the living room and the kitchen. she was stood like a deer caught in headlights, holding her phone and a bottle of water.
"no, i was planning on leaving in an hour or two" he said, looking back at his phone screen and going back to scrolling in his socials.

"well i was gonna make some food if you want any?" zara offered, thinking it would be a bit awkward if she were to cook herself some dinner but not make any for her guest. even if all he did was stress her out.

lando looked blankly at his phone screen for a second, debating with himself if he wanted some of her food or not "depends, what were you planning on making?" he asks, turning his head to finally look up at her. lando knew that he was a picky eater and that he probably wouldn't like her food, but he was quite hungry.

"just some pasta" zara said, putting her phone and bottle in the kitchen counter and turning her speaker on. she connected her phone and started playing music out of it, the first song that came on was 'Mess It Up' by gracie abrams.
