lando was sat scrolling once more on his phone, he had noticed zara's hesitation to sit down on the chair opposite him. he wondered why, did he intimidate her? or did she just not want to be near him? well, it must have been the former because she eventually took the seat and made herself comfortable.

he hadn't payed much attention too her after that. not until he could hear her shuffling in her seat. lifting his head and lowering his phone screen, lando peered over at the woman infront of him. she had her arms crossed over her chest -like they do when laying a body in a coffin- and her knees tucked in close. she looked like she was in some sort of defensive position, like it was protecting her from her dreams. he took notice of how she had pulled her hood over her head and her earphones that played music from her phone. she really did look like she was trying to hide. but from what? he thought, from him?

that's when he noticed the slight shake to her frame, the shallow and laboured breaths she was taking. a distressed whimper had passed her lips, that's when he realised she was crying.

her body shifted again and she had turned all the way round, facing him now. though she still kept her position of crossed arms and tucked legs. he now had a clear view of her face. no makeup, no altering, just her natural, soft features. he admired her for a second. freckles, dusting the bridge of her nose. eyelashes, long and wet from tears. cheeks, flushed rose and overspread in tears that still fell solemnly from her closed eyes.

she looked peaceful, angelic almost. her tears only accentuating the heavenly aspect of the current picture before him. lando couldn't stop his thoughts from trailing. she looked so pure and vulnerable in that moment. so at peace but so torn. as his gaze lingered on her he once again found himself questioning what was going on inside her head. she was obviously having a nightmare.

she started squirming in her seat once more, her brows furrowed and the look of serenity left altogether. her breaths quickened and a panicked state encapsulated the sleeping girl. landos brows creased. whatever dream zara was having, it must have been very real. lando felt bad for the girl, sleep was supposed to be a safe place, somewhere where you can escape and rest your soul for some time.

as he only saw her get worse, seemingly driving herself into mental turmoil, he thought he better wake her up. she would've woken up some time soon anyway judging on her reactions, so he may as well save her a few minutes of deemed torture.

lando got out of his seat and crouched down next to the helpless girl. the look of pain and terror on her face made him want to give her a hug, hold her tight and tell her it'll all be ok. he debated ways of waking her up, ultimately deciding to choose what was most likely to not startle the singer to death

"zara"
his voice wasn't strong, it sounded slightly strained and hesitant.

"zara wake up"
he saw her face contort once more, wondering if she would wake up from his voice alone, but she was showing signs of waking -or stirring at least.

"zara"
lando said once more, his voice stable and sounding almost commanding. placing a hand on her shoulder he opened his mouth to try again.

"zara"
as those words left his lips, the girl bolted awake, startling him slightly. her breaths were ragged and her eyes were wide with horror. her skin still had a slight glow as evidence of her sleeping state and tears were still free falling from her eyes, slowing pace slightly.
