The door swung open, revealing none other than Hobi, Yoongi and Jimin. A wave of giddy excitement washed over me, momentarily eclipsing the initial surprise. This was a chance to get to know the people Namjoon called his brothers, a glimpse into his world beyond the stage lights.
Daisy, however, seemed less enthused. A flicker of disappointment crossed her face as her eyes swept over the three newcomers. She kept her gaze fixed on the door, a silent vigil for the absent members.
"The others," Namjoon began, sensing her dejection, "had other plans tonight. They won't be joining us."
Daisy offered a curt nod, her lips pressed into a thin line. Without a word, she slid into the seat he indicated, her posture stiff and unyielding. Samina and I, on the other hand, could barely contain our excitement. The prospect of spending an evening with these international superstars was a dream come true.
The seating arrangement, a strategic boy-girl pattern, placed Namjoon to my right, Yoongi on the other side. Across from me, Jimin sat next to Daisy, Hobi, ever the social butterfly, took the seat beside Samina, his infectious grin already working its magic.
As the conversation flowed, a mixture of emotions swirled within me. The thrill of being surrounded by these talented artists mingled with a pang of sympathy for Daisy's disappointment.
The arrival of the drink menus signaled the official start of the evening's festivities. Jimin, ever the attentive host, took charge, his infectious smile radiating warmth as he offered them to the table.
"Drinks anyone?" he asked, his voice brimming with playful enthusiasm. "Fancy a bottle of red and a white to share?"
The suggestion met with unanimous approval. A flurry of discussion ensued as everyone perused the options, offering recommendations and negotiating selections. When the waiter finally reappeared, a symphony of "perfects" and "excellents" rang out as he confirmed our choices.
I found myself drawn to the dynamic between Jimin and Daisy. Their personalities, both vibrant and outgoing, meshed perfectly with Yoongi as a quiet observer. Their laughter, a contagious melody, filled the room as they exchanged witty remarks and playful anecdotes. It was an unexpected pairing, yet somehow, it felt perfectly natural.
A different kind of energy crackled between Hobi and Samina. He, a whirlwind of sunshine and enthusiasm, seemed determined to coax her out of her shell. She, on the other hand, maintained a more reserved demeanor, a slight smile betraying her amusement at his antics. It was a study in contrasts – the extrovert and the introvert, yet despite their differences, a spark of connection flickered between them.
A comfortable silence settled between Namjoon and me, allowing me to observe the lively scene unfolding around us. "Looks like everyone's getting along," I finally remarked, a smile playing on my lips.
He turned to me, his gaze filled with warmth. "It does, doesn't it?" he replied, his voice a low rumble. "Maybe a little too well," he added with a playful wink, sending a blush creeping up my cheeks.
The playful banter was short-lived, however, as Jimin raised his glass, his voice cutting through the chatter. "Alright everyone," he announced, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "let's toast to new friends, unexpected adventures, and making memories that will last a lifetime!"
Cheers erupted around the table, the clinking of glasses a joyous symphony. As I raised my glass to my lips, the clinking sound intermingled with the rhythmic melody of the Bellagio fountains outside, creating a magical backdrop for this extraordinary evening.
"Here we go," Namjoon murmured beside me, his voice barely a whisper. A hint of excitement colored his eyes, as if he, too, couldn't wait to witness the spectacle for the hundredth time.
