Evelyn Carmine POV (one year later)

The mix of sounds including loud bustling of music and voices come from the building in front of me.

I decided to have a little fun because of all the bad things happening in my life. I need this. I need to rip away my guilt after what I said to her. It's taking everything in me just to wake up in the mornings and not get in my car and drive till there's nothing left.

Once i'm in the party, it is very overwhelming. My vision is filled with horny and sweaty people dancing and grinding against each other. I came here alone so I'm not looking for anyone in particular. At first.

I walk towards the bar and sit down. The middle aged man looks at me with a crocked brow and a smirk.

"Looking to remember, or forget?" he says smiling, it doesn't reach his eyes.

I snort, "forget".

I'm underage but I'm friends with the owner of this place and they let me in.

He gives me a big wine glass with something I've never had before. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Strong, very strong. I feel the back of my throat burn but I continue sipping until I'm used to it.

I finish the drink because it's not enough, I need more. Anything to forget what I've done.

I ask for what ever he can give me, the man gives me a shot glass. I continue downing every glass, I've lost track at this point. I go to take another glass from off the granite table, but a hoarse voice from behind stops me.

"That's enough for the night", someone chuckles while putting money down in front of me.

I turn around and I am faced with an attractive man. He has dark brown ruffled hair with faint stubble running across his chin.

"I think I can decide that for my self," I say rudely. I don't like when people control anything I do without my say. But I think I'm done drinking, I'm ready to go out and dance, maybe even a hookup.

Wait no, I can't do that. What the fuck am I thinking.

The man laughs at my snarky comment.

"I've seen you drink up the whole bar," he says laughing. His smile doesn't compare to hers.

I roll my eyes and turn around until he spins me around again.

"What's someone like you doing here alone? Do you want to dance?" he says curiously.

His green eyes stare back at me, even with the vibrant color of lights, I can see them perfectly. This causes me to think of her and I feel my mood being killed before it even started.

Another man looking for a hookup just because of the way I look. Men piss me off so much I can't even explain.

But I think i'm honestly done with the drinking. I'm ready to dance, even if it's with a man. Any distractions, I'll take it without a second thought.

I get up and smile, and he walks me towards the dance floor.

The lights, music, and shuffling of feet is loud because of the alcohol. But I feel good, even if it's on the outside.

The music changes and I begin to grind against the man whose name I'm still unaware of. I feel his hardness against my backside. I smirk knowing the effect I have on him.

I continue with a smile on my face until I see a familiar face. My smile drops just like my heart.

She was already looking at me. I force my head away and my heart starts beating so fast, I'm afraid someone can hear it, even with the deafening sounds of music.

I turn around and he looks a little disoriented for a second at my change of actions. We continue dancing, while he keeps trying to make moves on me.

Every movement of mine, I'm aware of who else is in the room. Nothing I'm doing is for me anymore, only for her eyes to see.

About 3 songs go by until I hear the heavy door swing open. Multiple heads turn towards the loud noise. Everyone's drunk selves could hear that even with the music.

It's multiple men, dressed in dark clothing; hiding their face.

I can't see very well from where I'm standing in between crowds of people.

The music stops, but the lights continue dancing across the room.

All attention is on those men.

Whispers fill the room before I look at where I last seen the familiar woman I've spent years with.

My thoughts are filled with nothing but questions, but those are soon interrupted as gun shots fill the room. Loud pops and cracks, bullets flying to the floor.

Screaming is heard from multiple people. I panic and look across the room.

A familiar blonde falls to the floor. A red ring of liquid forming from under her body.

Alethea.
