Beep, beep, beep!

I blinked my eyes open, squinting at the light leaking into my room through my blinds, I sat up, scratching the back of my head. I looked at my alarm clock.

7:47 AM.

"Shit!" I exclaimed as I stumbled out of bed, one of my blankets now on the floor as I went to get changed for school. I grabbed a pair of oversized jeans, and a graphic print t-shirt. I put them on, and I rushed in to my bathroom. I sat over my sink infront of the mirror for a good three minutes figuring out my mascara. They were sisters, not twins.

I capped my mascara and rushed out of the bathroom to get my shoes on and my bag. I grabbed a pair of black socks, and my dirt-stained converse. I shoved my feet into my shoes, tying them quickly and standing up. I grabbed my bag, my laptop, and my books and shoved them into my backpack I've had since middle school. I turned the lights off, and closing the door behind me. I grabbed my keys off of the kitchen counter, and seeing a sticky note on the fridge.

Working late tonight, there's $20 to order you and your sister some food.
-Mom

I sighed. I left the sticky note hanging onto my fridge as I walked out the door, closing it behind me. All I had to do was run.

I rushed into the school building, my heart burning. I stopped a couple of times for breaks, I sighed heavily, walking into the classroom and seeing all the kids eyes glaring at me.

"Your late again, Ms. Hu." the teacher blurts out. I sighed. I sat down at my desk, sat next to my friend, Audrey. She nudged my shoulder.

"Where were you?" she whispers, I shrug.
"Slept in." she rolls her eyes, not believing me. My mouth becomes a thin line, I rolled my eyes, leaning my head into my hand. Audrey and I's friendship was always on and off. She'd always talk shit about what I did and didn't do in the past and this year. I'd always try and cut things off with her, but I couldn't really get rid of her. She was all I have.

I grabbed my History notebook, writing notes. I'd doodle in the corners or on the side of the page, I drew small stars and cats. I was writing notes and doodling in my notebook, until I feel a small pinch on the back of my wrist, I quickly look to see a huge ass spider biting me. I swat it off, making it hit the boy infront of me. I looked at the spider bite. I licked my thb, wiping the dot of blood off my wrist I continued doodling.

------☆★☆------

It was lunch time, I sat on the edge of an empty lunch table, eating some chips and drinking a small can of soda that someone gave me. I bet it was laced with fentanyl and I wouldn't know until school ended, but I still drank it. I continued doodling. When I rested my wrist on my paper, it stung a little to the touch. I looked at where that spider bit me earlier, my wrist swelling up. I couldn't help but be a little bit concerned. I stuffed my sketchbook in my bag, and grabbed my chips and drink too, to head to the nurse. I went to the nurse often, when I forget some pads, when I wanted to fake being sick leaving school, etc. I walk in, seeing the nurse. She smiles at me.
"Hey sweetie, what's the problem?" she asks, looking me up and down to see anything physically wrong with me. I smiled.
"My wrist has been swelling up ever since first period," I explain, she frowns. "A spider bit me," I say, she takes my hand, looking at my swelled wrist.
"I can't do a lot for you, hon. Would you like some ice?" she asks, I nodded. She then stands up to go to the fridge and grab a small plastic bag of ice. I bet if you broke your arm during school they'd still give you ice. Not really, but I'd hope. She hands me the bag, and smiles.
"Would you like a mint?" she asks and gestures to the small jar of those small white and red mints. I smiled and take two.
"Thank you," I say softly. She smiles back.
"Of course dear, come by anytime," she says, waving me off as I leave the nurses office. I held the ice to my wrist, my other hand holding my drink while my chips are in my bag.

I sit outside on the bench as I see all of the other students walking around and laughing. A couple of kids were hiding behind the equipment shed for either of these three options. One, vaping. Two, fighting while people recorded. And three, a couple or two making out. I scowl with disgust. I look at the field, the same group of boys playing football ever since we got out of 8th grade into highschool. And there was this group of girls attempting to play basketball. I can't blame them. They were pretty hot doing it, too. And I was convinced at least one of them were a lesbian.

School is equivalent to a prison. The lunch tables, the food, the classrooms. Us students were prisoners, and the teachers were the police. Once the bell rang we'd be out on the loose doing whatever crimes, or something similar. I swam through the seas of tall, sweaty boys and older students who went there. I went to my locker, banging my fist on it for it to open. I grabbed my bag, and slamming the locker shut. I walk out of the building, rushing home to settle down for a little bit and order food for me and my sister.

------☆★☆------

I walk through the door, my keys jingling.
"I'm home," I called out, dropping my keys on to my kitchen counter, or attempting to. I shake my hand, my hand not holding my keys, but sticking to my hands. I threw my hand down, my keys dropping with a small jingle.

Weird...

I dropped my bag off in my room, walking past my sister's room, Sophie. I stop at her door, scanning her room.
"Your room looks like a shithole." I say, she looks up from her phone.
"You look like you came out of one." she shot back, I open my mouth, but soon closing for no other comeback. I sigh frustratedly.
"Clean it." I say firmly, walking away, hearing her murmuring and mimicking me. I walk into my room, dropping my bag to the floor and grabbing my phone to get dinner.

------☆★☆------

We had pizza. Again. I sighed, shutting all the lights off in the house as I then go into my room, I close my door, and I flop onto my bed, I looked at my ceiling for a moment, but then sitting up to light my candle. I grabbed a lighter and my candle and lit it. I put the candle down, and I try to put the lighter down, but it was sticking like earlier. I shake my hand, it didn't budge. I furrowed my eyebrows as I got my other hand and tried to peel it off my hand. I took it off, dropping it onto my nightstand table.
"What the hell..." I muttered to myself, I sit up, walking around my room before I stretch my arm out to itch. I aimed my fingers at an old book, to make it look like finger guns, a small zap went through my hand.
"Ow!" I exclaimed in pain, another zap coming out of my finger, buring my finger tip. I wipe my hand on my pants. I looked at my hands, my heart racing.

"What in the hell is going on..."

...

"I bet it was that drink, stupid kid laced it with fentanyl."
