Beep, beep, bee-
I slammed my hand down on my alarm clock. I picked it up and dropped it to the ground. I groaned, literally rolling out of bed and falling to the floor. I've been having bad growing pains lately. My whole body has been aching for whatever reason, and my ears would start ringing out of nowhere. I stood up, walking to my kitchen for something to eat before I'd go back to bed. I grabbed a bowl from my cupboard and a box of cereal, pouring it into my bowl.
I felt my ears ringing again, and the air in the room felt like it was sucked out around me.
"Ow..." I mumbled, rubbing my forehead, putting my right hand on the counter for support so I didn't fall over. I felt the zaps coming back, too.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, pulling my hand back and falling backward onto my ass. I looked at my hand, and my more light and sparks came out of them. I couldn't help but feel intrigued before it blew up in my face, I closed my eyes, feeling the hot stinging of the zap on my face. After the stinging on, my hands stopped, I opened my eyes, looking around. The kitchen lights went out. I stand up, turning them back on. I rubbed my eyes, smelling a burning scent. I look at my hands, but it's fine. I rush to my bathroom to see what's wrong. My jaw drops.
What the hell.
I looked at myself in the mirror, my hair was looking frizzy, and the front half of my hair was orange-ish and pink, I touched it, seeing if the color would come out, but it didn't.
"Shit, shit, shit..." I mumbled. "Moms gonna kill me, I'm not supposed to have dyed hair." I murmured to myself, feeling a wave of shock go through me (haha, get it.)"Ohmygodohmygodohmygod-"
I hear a knock at my door. I rush to my room to grab a beanie, fitting it on my head as I go to answer the door. I open it to see Koko and Sam. I smiled nervously.
"Uh, hey..!" I say, putting my arm against the door, or so I thought. I stumbled to the side before actually putting my arm on the door. "W-Whats up?... Oh... Hey, dudes?" I say awkwardly. Koko grimaces.
"Never say that again in your entire life."
"Alright." I say. Sam sighs.
"Joi, are you able to hang out today?" Sam asks. I nodded.
"I'd just have to ask my mom. She'd probably say yes." I say. "Oh my God, how rude of me. Come in, come in." I say, leading them in my house, my kitchen light still out.
"Sorry for the mess..." I say. "Y'know... Uh... Siblings, and a bat-shit crazy mom," I say as I grab books off of random places and place them on the bookshelf. Sam looks around before her eyes glare at the kitchen light.
"Why is the light out?" she asks.
"Oh.. It's probably a burnt lightbulb!" I lie, rubbing the back of my neck, flicking the light switch multiple times, feeling a zap go through my finer and turning on the light. "Oh, never mind..." I chuckle awkwardly. Sam looked suspicious before she let's out a low hum in response, crossing her arms. Talking to Sam always felt like talking to an older sister when you're in trouble.
"I'll go ask my mom if we can hang out, and I'll go get dressed too." I say, not waiting for a reply from any of them before I rush into my room, closing the door."She's probably tweaking out or some shit," Koko says.
...
"What."

Sam POV:
Joi's been acting off. Really off. I tried not to pay no mind to it, but she was wearing a beanie. In summer weather. Is she insane? I sighed before turning to Koko.
"She's acting off," I say, letting out in a low murmur. She nods in agreement, not looking up from her phone. Probably either playing Roblox or that one truck game. I don't know the name for it, either.------☆★☆------
Koko POV:
Sam was right. Joi has been acting a little weird. I know she'd tell me, though. I'm her best friend. Not really, we all just met her last week, but it felt like I've known her forever. I get a news notification, the same with Sam. She takes her phone out of her pocket, concern written all over her face. I raise an eyebrow.
"Doesn't her universe have a superhero, too?" I ask. Sam shakes her head.
"We haven't seen any mentions of a spiderperson in this universe... But we can't interfere..." she begins before cutting herself off."It's a cannon event."
My heart sinks, I look up at her, my attention turning towards Sam.
"You don't mean..." I murmur, she nods.------☆★☆------
Joi POV:
I walk out into the living room, completely dressed in wide-legged jeans with a graphic print t-shirt of an Arctic Monkeys shirt. Yes. I do listen to them. I also had my black Adidas Superstars on.
"Alright, so my mom said yes, and we can hang out downtown if you guys want!" I say and smile as I look at them. My smile drooped off my face when I saw the worry printed all over their own.
"W-Whats wrong?" I ask. Sam clears her throat awkwardly.
"Oh, the news app says there's a villain out on the loose," she says, playing with her phonecase.
"Oh yeah, it happens often... Ever since Spiderman died, there's nobody to protect Seattle." I say. Koko and Sam exchange looks before looking at me.
"We should go check it out." Sam says, Koko standing up.
"I- hold on. Aren't we going to get hurt..?" I ask. Sam doesn't say anything before grabbing my arm and leading me out of my house, Koko following, swiping my keys off of the counter and locking to the door for me.------☆★☆------
Sam, Koko, Ally, Ren, Kai, Hannah, Jay, Chris, Levi, and I were all walking down town. I was about to shit my pants. When I looked at all of them, they seemed so chill about it. The ringing in my ears came back again, the ringing hurting more. It felt like there was a Q-tip going through my ear into my brain, so I couldn't hear. Sam put a hand on my shoulder, I looked up at her as she let out a shaky breath. They all look at each other before looking at me. They led me into an alleyway. Sam takes her hoodie off, seeing her in a suit. My eyes widened slightly. Koko took off her sweater, and everyone else followed...
"What the hell..." I murmured, backing up. "You're all spider people... like the movie..." I say. Sam nods a little.
"And you are too, Joi." She whispers. My heart sinks further. How can I save others when I haven't saved myself first? I wasn't ready.
"N-No... I can't be..." I mumbled. "But how..." I mumbled before I thought back to the spider that bit me.The zaps...
My hair...
The ringing...
"Why did it bite me, though? I thought..." I mumbled. They all gave each other looks.
"We will explain everything later, don't worry." Sam says. Everyone nods. I hear yelling, I look to see fire now.Oh my God.
I see people rushing out of the burning building. A woman running out, sobbing hysterically. Mom...
"My baby, she's still in there!" She cries, pointing at the burning building. My heart burning (ahah) in my chest. I ran out to the building, Koko calling out my name, hurrying to put her sweater on and run after me. I ran inside the building through the fire, hearing Koko yelling my name again. Her voice was drowned out by the crackling of the fire.---------------
