It was the end of the school day, kids scrambling out the doors and running home while screaming and laughing. I stood outside the front doors, waiting for everybody else to arrive. Koko was trying to climb a tree, and she yelled when she almost fell. I laugh at her. She comes back to me with splinters all over her hands. I slap her hand, causing her to gasp.
"The splinters are going to go into my skin and grow. And I'm gonna grow into a tree." She whines as she uses her budded finger nails in an attempt to take a couple out. I giggled as I heard a string of curses come from a group walking out. I laugh as I waved as Ally and Sam seemed to be arguing about something. Chris was listening to music, Levi and Jay were playing Subway Surfers on their phones, trying to get a higher score than one another. And Ren, Hannah, and Kai were talking about whatever. We all then started walking down the pavement, my shoes playfully skidding against it, annoying Koko.
"Do that again and I'm gonna push you into moving traffic." She says as she rubs her hand from taking another splinter out. Ally and Sam soon were quiet when their argument resolved. They'd shove eachother once in a while and give eachother dirty looks. Levi yelled when he messed up in Subway Surfers, causing everybody to laugh. Then our senses went off. I looked around, so does everyone else. My eyes soon set on my brother who seemed to be waiting for us. My eyebrows furrowed as the corner of his lip tilts up in a smirk. He hugs me tightly, like it was crushing my ribcage.
"Tell anybody and your little friends are gone." He whispered. I backed up, my blood going cold. He then smiles innocently, letting us inside. When we walked in there was a birthday cake and decorations. Oh yeah. Did I forget to mention it was Sam and Ally's birthday? Of course it was a surprise for them and I know they love surprises. (AN: I actually have no idea if they do.) The rest of that night we ate cake and fucked around the whole time. My brother glared at me across the room as we played Truth or Dare in the living room. He smirks at me and walks to the guest bedroom with a red plastic cup in his hand filled with Dr. Pepper. I turned my attention back to everybody else, Levi was dared to do a handstand and he did one, for about 5 seconds. He then fell over onto Chris and Jay. We all laugh. I take a sip out of my red plastic cup filled with Coca Cola. After, I nudge Sam on the shoulder, and I nudged Ally. The both of them smile at me. I smiled back.
"Happy birthday."
