About 3200 years after the creation of the Earth and the fall of humanity, Cain found himself in vast pit, too dark to see in. He felt as though he were lying on the ground, the heaviness of the stones replaced by throbbing bruises, or so he supposed. His fear slowly changing to confusion, his least favorite emotion.
A growing light appeared above him.
"My God!" Cain cried, but his God did not appear. Instead, the light faded to reveal a man and a woman, both with sharp smiles and yellow eyes. The man had a six wings, and the woman sang a soothing melody. Cain backed away, unable to avert his gaze.
"Do not be afraid!" The man said, offering his hand as they landed in front of Cain.
Cain accepted the offer and stood.
The man's smile shifted, became... goofier. "Welcome to hell! I know it doesn't look like much right now, but with your help, I know it'll shine." He elbowed the woman. "Ain't that right, Lilith?"
"Hell? But, this is the bad place!" said Cain. "I mean I know I slaughtered my brother, but how was I supposed to know he wouldn't wake up?" He paused. "Although, I'm not sure I wouldn't have if I did."
"That is true." Lilith bent her legs, leveling with Cain. "You did commit other sins, though. Nonetheless, this is a place of creation, and my dear." She held Cain's hands in hers. "Human beings like us, we have the power to make change." She stood up as music inexplicably started playing around them.
