Everyone's eyes were flooded with light, but they didn't need to cover since it seemed to be night once again. They were all still reeling from the previous memory and everything that had transpired.

"I didn't know that our grandparents died that way." Boruto said as he sniffed his nose a bit.

"Maybe that's why Naruto-kun doesn't talk about his parents." Hinata said softly. "Such a terrible way to die."

She couldn't even begin to understand how her husband felt, considering that she still had her father while he had no one in his family. He was the last of his family and his bloodline, aside from their kids, but other than that he had no one. Maybe that's why he focused on Kawaki more than their own kids. Because he also didn't have parents and didn't know them, just like how he didn't know his own parents. Maybe he spent so much time because he could relate to what was to have no one.

"Looks like a new memory is starting up." Kawaki said, posture rigid as his mind was reeling from what he'd seen.

Not once in his life was there any time that he felt the way he was feeling. The way he acted, trying to save his father's parents while knowing damn well that he couldn't do anything to help, made him feel so helpless and he didn't like that feeling. He didn't even know the blonde man that well after all these years [despite him being an open book], and yet there was this foreign feeling of needing to help him, and to be there for him the way Naruto had always been there for him, despite not knowing each other at all.

They all saw a small boy with short spikey blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and beautifully tanned skin with three whisker marks on each cheek, being dragged out of a building. The blonde boy looked to be around 4-5 years old, and was wearing a ragged t-shirt with some stains on them, and a pair of dark green shorts.

"AND STAY OUT!!" The woman shouted as she physically threw him out. "I don't want you influencing this poor kids, you demon."

Everyone flinched as the door was harshly slammed shut after Naruto hit the ground, while the blonde just sighed and dusted himself off. He slowly started walking through the village, ignoring the glares and hateful whispers directed at him from the villagers as he walked past them with his hands behind his head like the way he used to walk when he was back in the academy. It was surprising that he seemed so nonchalant, considering he was just kicked out of the place he was currently staying at. They followed the blonde boy as he continued to ignore all the sneers and glares directed at him as he carefully made his way to the Forest of Death, also known as the Forbidden Forest. At that moment, it was clear that no one actually cared about him, so it was easy for him to sneak around and do things like this.

"Isn't this place restricted?" Sarada asked curiously.

"It's supposed to be." Kakashi replied. "Especially at this time in the past."

"Then why is Dad going in there. This is so dangerous." Boruto said worriedly.

"Let's see what happens. It's not like we can do anything except watch." The man said, also wondering why his former student was heading into the Forbidden Forest.

Compared to how it was in the present to how it was in the past, the Forbidden Forest was still considered dangerous, but not to the level it was back then. It was still dangerous to go into the forest in the future, because of all the creatures that lie in wait for their prey, but it was just restricted and filled with kids daring each other into running to the first tree and back, as well as the talks of legends and myths that people made up to keep their children in line.
