Hello everybody! It's certainly been longer than I expected since I posted. I meant to post a chapter about this earlier when the first poll actually happened, but better late than never, and now I have to post since there is A LOT MORE NEWS!
Some time back, I was feeling a bit confused. The book is coming out this year and we had not gotten an iggy design/colour poll. It felt a bit overdue. However, this year, we got something more interesting than an iggy colour poll.
As you would probably know, book 9.5 will be covered entirely in Keefe's POV, and mostly in the forbidden cities. As such, it makes sense that there wouldn't really be room for an iggy colour change. So instead we got something different(and in my opinion, better). We got a poll deciding who keefes animal companion is going to be!
I think we can all be pretty excited that keefe will be getting a little animal friend. The options were between a moonlark, and a fox. Both were very interesting and suitable options. While the reasoning for the moonlark would be clear, I, along with most fans, voted and came to the consensus that the fox would be more interesting and more suitable for keefe. It's something about the match between the character of keefe and and fox, as well as the practicality of the slender, nimble, earthbound fox as opposed to something akin to a swan.
I also saw a nice comment commenting that it would be cool if keefe were to name the fox, foxter. As in "foster". Regardless, I am happy to see Keefe will be finding an animal friend.
Next news of the hour - THE MOVIE:
There certainly seemed to be a big delay going on with the movie, and we can only assume this is because the reigns have been handed over to someone else! The movie has now been handed over to WARNER BROTHERS and Emma Watts may be producing it. Warner Brotehrs being the studio for this seems like a big deal, so I'm pretty excited! Hopefully they'll get started on it soon though...

I have a few things to say about this cover.
Overall, nice cover. Idk how to feel about the facial structure and stuff, looks a bit off but not too bad. Keefe still looking cool.
Like some of the nice colours with the tree and different coloured clothes. However, I cant say i find it as cool as the others.
Now onto the actual info that can be gleaned. This cover is mostly kind of vague, but it does make sense for the nature of the book. However, not so vague that it doesn't reveal something interesting. The figure that catches the eye is the hooded figure in the middle. So who is this figure, and what is their significance?\
There are, of course, a few options:
1. This is probably the first to come to mind: he is a dark shadowy figure with the neverseen trying to stalk and hunt down keefe with malicious intent.
2. He is someone connected to the lost cities who knows keefe somehow, or recognizes him as an elf, and tries to talk to him
3. He is a friend of keefe prior to this image and is simply looking out at him
While 1. seems most likely at first, I am disinclined to go with this avenue after some thought. I am sure keefe had many an adventure in the forbidden cities, but I do think we would have seen it play out more in stellarlune if someone from the neverseen was actively following and stalking keefe. Especially since there are only so many ways to track keefe, and keefe was unaware of the shadowflux tracking mechanism prior to being told by Sophie.
3. Is funny, but seems a bit extra.
I do think some iteration of 2 is most likely, and here is what I think it will be:
We know Keefe had some allies and "friends" he made in the forbidden cities:
""Let's just say I've had a little help and leave it at that, okay?"" - keefe quote from stellarlune
So while I'm guessing this shadowy figure could be a neutral party, I am inclined to believe they become an ally in some manner.
Thinking on it more, this figure could simply be a human who seemed interested in Keefe for whatever reason.
Or, they could be someone connected to the lost cities( human or elf) that recognized keefe in some form, and ended up allying with him and showing him around the human world.
Let's think back to why Keefe went to London in the first place. Gisela seemed to have had some kind of human( or human seeming) potential ally there. While she likely ended up killing him, could he really have been the only human involved with the lost cities?
Or if it was an elf, is it a solo elf that's been hiding in the forbidden cities, or is there a third party group of elves hiding out in the lost cities.
Regardless of who it is, while keefe was taken to the lost cities, he didn't seem concerned that this person would worry about him, so that could also mean something.
Furthermore, this person isn't easily distinguishable from the characters we know, though his face does seem more thin and narrow with a big nose in clas any of you recognize that.

Its probably not someone we know anyways though, so perhaps it isn't relevant to ponder. Though if I were to choose someone we knew, it could be Alvar. It was technically never confirmed that he died, and if he were alive, he would be looking pretty thin. While Keefe would never properly ally with Alvar, Alvar does like Keefe and does have experience venturing around the forbidden cities. Not saying it's Alvar(because it's probably not), but just saying something.
