Dimitri had known a life of violence. He was trained to become a killer and that was how he viewed himself. A murderer. Some days the marks on the back of his neck, burned as he thought of the life that he had lived. His mind was never quiet. Until now. After a night of complete bliss, he knew that he had found his purpose in life. Loving Katerina Voda.

"What are you thinking so hard about?" Kat asked him as she turned around to face him. Dimitri had been holding her tightly in his grip, afraid that this moment would fade. Neither of them bothered to get dressed, instead spending the rest of the day in bed.

"You."

"What about me?"

"How everything now makes sense."

"What do you mean?"

"It feels like this is what I'm meant to be doing. You and me are meant to be." Instead of answering she brought their lips together. He ran his hands through her hair, stopping them at the base of her neck. When they pulled away, Kat had a massive smile on her face.

"We have to get dressed. We're meeting Rose and Lissa in an hour. We've got answers to find." He responded to her with a groan. He did really not want to leave. They had created a perfect moment and he knew this trip would ruin it, by taking them out of it.

He got out of bed first. They got dressed in tandem. Him in the clothes that he had on the night before and her in a cute sundress. She had her back turned towards him and when she turned, she saw the way that he was looking at. Like she was his everything. He walked closer to her and pulled her into his chest. "I love you, so much." He gave her a kiss and left to his own room to get dressed. She decided that she would go and tell her parents that she would be hanging out with Lissa and Rose.

"Hey mama."

"Hey, bumblebee. How was your night?"

"It was good," Kat said blushing. Priscilla raised her eyebrow, and Kat diverted her eyes. "Anyway. I just wanted you to know that Lissa, Rose and I will be hanging out today."

"Have fun," Priscilla said as she gave her a kiss on her forehead. She went back to her room to pack a few essential, like a change of clothes and a few blood bags. She also cleaned up from the night before, blushing when she picked up her panty from where she had flung it. With her bag strap over her shoulder, she left to where she was meeting up with her friends.

"Hey guys," she said as she reached the group. Lissa, Adrian and Dimitri were standing there, waiting for her and Rose. Kat made eye contact with Lissa and gave her a look that said, "We have a lot to talk about." Lissa replied with a sly smile.

"Sorry, I'm late," Rose said as she joined the group.

"Hello little dhampir," Adrian said as he slid his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose. Kat shot him a look and he broke eye contact.

"Are we ready to go?" Kat asked Dimitri.

"I'm driving!" Rose exclaimed.

"Do you even know how to drive?" Dimitri questioned his fellow novice. At her dump struck face, he took the keys out of her hand.

"Can Rose sit in the back with me and Lissa?"

Dimitri gave her a look and gave her a nod. He took her hand and led her to the car. She made herself comfortable in the middle of the back seat, sandwiched in between Rose and Lissa.

"Guys, I have news," Kat whispered. The other girls bent closer to her and she continued her story. "Dimitri and I slept together." Lissa and Rose gave simultaneous gasps.

"Tell us everything," Lissa demanded.

"It was amazing. He was so kind. I mean we all know how scared I was about how I would lose my virginity, but this was perfect."

"I'm assuming he was respectful," Rose said, wiggling her eyebrows. Kat blushed and shied away from the heated stare that Rose was giving. The girls let out a laugh at their friend's discomfort, and Adrian turned around – from the front seat – to see what they were doing.

"What are you guys whispering about?"

"None of your business, Adrian," Kat responded.

"Come on Little Kitty. Tell me."

"Where are we going Adrian?" Lissa questioned her fellow Moroi, effectively taking the attention off of Kat.

"There is a scholar is the human world. She wrote some things about St Vladimir that the council isn't happy with."

"Is she going to be able to give us the answers we need?"

"I'm positive Lissa." Lissa still wanted to say something when her attention was drawn elsewhere. Her eyes took in the sight of the human city. She had never left the safety of the Academy, except for family vacations when she was a child. Kat was just as intrigued. She had only seen the human world through books and movies. She was thrilled to be experiencing it. She made eye contact with Dimitri in the rearview mirror and she smiled.

"Guys, I think we may be a little overdressed for the city. You know what that means. Shopping!" Rose said excited. Dimitri found the nearest mall, and the girls immediately found a clothing store.

As they entered the store, Kat's eyes were drawn to a dark green top. The colour reminded her of Dimitri's eyes and she knew she had to get it. He had told her that green was his favourite colour on her, and she had tried to dress in it, as much as she could. She found a black pair of pants, to pair with the top.

"You'll look sexy in that." With a blush, Kat went to the changing rooms. She felt the heat of his stare as he followed her with his eyes. After their night together, their bond somehow grew stronger.

"Hey Kat, I have some shoes for you," Rose said from outside of the changing rooms.

"I'll be right out."

"I'll wait for you outside." Kat had just put on her pants and moved on to the top. She couldn't zip it up. "Hey Cowboy. Can you help me?"

Not even a minute later, the curtain of the changing room opened, and Dimitri stepped in. His breath hitched as he saw Kat, standing practically naked. No words were spoken as he stepped into her personal space, reaching for the zipper. He bent down and gave her a kiss on the back of her neck, making her breath hitch. "I can't wait to get you alone."

Kat turned around and kissed him. His hand went to her waist, pulling her closer to him. Just as she grabbed his shirt, he pulled away. "As much as this kills me, people are waiting for us."

"Fine," Kat said with a groan.

"We'll be at home in a few hours. Just wait Printsessa."
