Chapter 13: There is no Antimemetic Division (Part 1)

Agent:"Alright, time for some of the SCP Foundation Departments."

Anis:"So... they have like, some standard departments or..."

Agent:"That and some more anomalous ones."

Red Hood:"Oh yeah, the anomalous departments."

Agent:"Today, you guys are going to know about the Antimemetics Division."

The Nikkes are confused by what does that means.

Agent:"It would be more easier to understand when you guys watch this." 

After that, Agent showed them some information about the Antimemetics Division.

Antimemetics Division

An antimeme is an idea with self-censoring properties; an idea which, by its intrinsic nature, discourages or prevents people from spreading it.

Anis:"I- uh, what ?"

Agent:"Basically, it's an idea, that eats itself up."

Anis:"So it's eats itself up so that no one will know about it ?"

Agent:"Well... close enough."

Antimemes are real. Think of any piece of information which you wouldn't share with anybody, like passwords, taboos and dirty secrets. Or any piece of information which would be difficult to share even if you tried: complex equations, very boring passages of text, large blocks of random numbers, and dreams...

Anis:"So they are things that you know but don't remember ?"

Agent:"It's... you could say it like that."

But anomalous antimemes are another matter entirely. How do you contain something you can't record or remember? How do you fight a war against an enemy with effortless, perfect camouflage, when you can never even know that you're at war?

Lilith:"So you will never know if it's even there or not..."

Agent:"It's an antimeme so yeah."

Welcome to the Antimemetics Division.

No, this is not your first day.

When the Nikkes got to the last line, they got confused, but then, it doesn't really matter to them that much... although, Rapi asks, "Have we-"

"Oh that? Yeah well had you guys been here before? Not sure about that. Maybe you guys did, or maybe not. You guys have to find it out yourself." Agent responds, leaving the Nikkes in a bit of shocked and confused as they're trying to piece together what they just heard.

"Anyway, here's come what you need to watch." Agent says, as he shows a video.

The Nikkes are confused, why there is no Antimemetics Division? Well, they will got an answer for that.

The video start with words that pretty much you've already know.

The SCP Foundation is a top-secret organization tasked with the containment of supernatural objects.

Within the Foundation departments, the Antimemetics Division deal with "Antimemes", which are essentially information black holes, preventing any knowledge about them from being retained or communicated.
