Rhett
In life you make choices. Every day of your life there's a choice you have to decide on. Whether it's what do I eat for lunch or do I buy skip a car payment and hope for the best kind of choices, but as of right now- I'm literally running through a damn airport on the outskirts of Montana.
Didn't think this would ever become me.
A grown-ass man practically gliding through hundreds of people to find the woman I'm in love with.
Who the fuck have I turned into?
"Excuse me," I let out breathlessly, trying to compose myself before I run smack into someone. "Sorry."
"Watch where you're going!"
"Easy, pal. Do you want me to kick your ass?"
I should turn back around and rip him a new ass, but I'm on a mission and Holly is lucky I love her so much to not stop what I'm doing and tackle this douchebag.
My legs just about give out on me until I hear a lady speak into the intercom. "This is the final boarding call for passengers booked on flight 578A to Seattle, Washington. Please proceed to gate 2 immediately."
I curse under my breath as I rush up a flight of stairs. I don't have time for the damn escalator right now. I've got to find my girl. I just hope and pray she hasn't boarded just yet. Please, fuck. As I'm running, softly saying excuse me over and over again, I see luscious blonde locks in the corner of my eye. She's nowhere near gate 2, if anything Holly is further away from everyone else.
Her arms are crossed while one hand is near her mouth as she nibbles away on the anxieties that must have changed her mind. It has to be the reason why she looks so distraught and overwhelmed by something. Is this... does this have anything to do with me?
My feet take me closer to her, almost afraid I may startle her and she runs in the opposite direction to where the correct gate is and to where her plan is at. I find myself standing several feet behind her before gently tapping the top of her shoulder. Sure enough, she gets startled and gasps when she turns around to see me.
"Rhett?" Holly gapes at me as if she can't believe her own eyes. "What are you—
"Were you really going to leave without telling me goodbye? Without giving me some type of acknowledgment?" I ask in disbelief. "Why?"
She swallows hard, staring at the concrete floors before gradually moving her eyes to look at mine again. "I'm so sorry, Rhett. I'm such a coward. It hurts too much to leave you like this. To leave you in general," her eyes start to glisten as she takes in several breaths to calm down her nerves. "I didn't know what to do. I just ran here."
God, I'm so fucking furious at her, but another part of me wants to take her in my arms and kiss her. I want to leave my mark on her forever. To kiss her in a way that says this is forever. There is no end to us.
So, that's exactly what I do.
Holly gasps once I take her face into the palms of my hands and slam our lips together. Those goddamn lips. Luscious and full and made just for mine as I open my mouth and kiss her more possessively. I hear her groan against me, gliding her hands up and over my shoulders before diving into my shaggy hair. My heart is racing so fast when she tugs on the ends and runs her tongue on mine. I quickly pull back, panting like a damn dog. "Do you see what you do to me? There's no way you're leaving."
She's beaming up at me while my hands are still against both cheeks. I run my thumbs along her chin when she speaks. "I have to leave..."
"Not without me."
