Clark floated down the hall of the lookout, carrying coffee, a blueberry muffin, and a Chocolate Cosmo (the flower). He made his way to the meeting room, where he found Diana waiting.
He placed the coffee, muffin, and flower in front of Batman's chair, moved around the table to his seat, sat down, and looked up at Diana, who smiled at him.
He had told her about his feelings for Batman and why he felt the way he did. She supported him and encouraged him.
He watched as the door opened and the others came in. He watched as Batman walked to his chair and paused when he saw Clark's gifts waiting for him. Batman looked over at him, and Clark smiled a little.
He watched as Batman sat down and took up the muffin. He unwrapped it and took a bite, making Clark's smile grow.
He was very aware that the others were watching him, but he didn't care; he would never hide his feelings for the Bat.
Diana cleared her throat, and they turned to her. She began to talk. She had just returned from a mission in the South and was updating them on what had happened during that time and what information she had gathered.
She finished her report, and everyone else gave theirs as Clark sat there glancing at Batman now and then.
His phone rang in the middle of Flash's report, and the other man glared at him. "Really? I thought all phones were supposed to be on silent."
"Shut up, Flash. It's my mother." Clark said, recognizing the ringtone.
"Hello?" He answered, but the voice that answered wasn't his mother.
"Is this Clark Kent?" The voice asked, and he tensed.
"Who is this?" He asked, sitting up straight.
"This is Doctor Ramo from Metropolis City Hospital. I'm calling to tell you that your mother was shot in a bank robbery. We need you to come down because she needs a blood transaction." The man said, Clark, clenching his fist and standing, walking away from the table and to a corner of the room.
"I can't." He said, and he heard shuffling on the other side of the phone.
"Mr. Kent, I am sure whatever you're doing..." Doctor Ramo started, but Clark cut him off.
"No, that's not it. I'm coming, but our blood doesn't match Doc. I'm adopted," Clark said, but there was silence on the other side.
"Well, do you have any other relatives who could?" the doctor asked, and Clark sighed; they didn't, but there was someone.
"I do; we'll be there shortly," Clark said, hanging up the phone.
He turned back to see the room looking at him.
"I have to go; my mom was shot," he said before zooming out of the room and going down to earth. He flew fast to Lois's house and knocked.
The door opened, and the woman looked at him, shocked to see him. "Clark? What are you doing here?" she asked.
"My mom needs your help; she got shot and needs a transaction," Clark told her, and Lois sighed.
"Let me get my shoes on," she said.
