It had been a week after their date, and Clark was using his rare day off to patrol his city when he saw the batmobile driving down the street, cutting off citizens and acting like it was a drunk person driving. Clark frowned as the car turned the corner and disappeared. He decided to follow it. He jumped off the roof he was sitting on and followed the car. Two blocks following the car, a bike zoomed past him with Batman on it.
He took a moment to comprehend what was going on. The Batmobile had been stolen. Clark went faster, spotting the batmobile parked outside a bank. The alarm went off inside the bank, and people rushed out. Clark landed as Bruce parked the motorcycle and got off. "Mind telling me how it was stolen?" Clark asked as he went up to Bruce.
"Left it open when I captured the joker," Bruce told him, and Clark nodded as shots were fired inside the bank.
"I got this," Clark said; he flew inside, leaving Bruce on the steps. There was an explosion inside, and Bruce rushed in. He headed to where the smoke was coming from and saw Clark pushing the vault door off of him. Bruce pulled a Batarang from his belt and fired it at the crooks; there were five. The Batarang wrapped around the crooks and pulled them together as Clark stumbled out from under the vault.
Clark looked over at him, and Bruce saw a bit of green sticking out of his side.
"Clark?" Bruce said hesitantly, "What's that?" he asked, and Clark looked down at his side and cursed.
"Kryptonite," Clark sighs. "Let's get out of here," Clark says, going over and pulling the crooks to their feet, struggling. They exit the building and hand over the crooks to the cops.
"Clark, we should get that wound taken care of," Bruce said softly so no one else could hear, and Clark nodded.
"Superman," A female voice called, and Clark froze, looking over at someone standing at the entrance of an alleyway across the street. Bruce frowned as Clark rushed to the woman, following her into the alley. Curious, he followed.
"Clark?" he asked when he entered the alley and saw an older-looking lady looking at Clark's wound while lecturing him. Clark looked embarrassed.
"Bruce," the woman said, looking at Bruce, who looked at her, shocked that she knew who he was under the mask. "Nice to finally meet you," she said, pulling a tweezer out of her bag and the kryptonite out of Clark's side. It started to heal immediately. Bruce saw that her left arm was bandaged.
"You're his mother?" Bruce asked, recalling that Clark had said his mother had gotten shot.
"Yes, dear," Mrs. Kent said, coming over to him and stretching out her good arm. "It is nice to finally meet the man my son has been talking so much about," She said as Clark whined behind her.
"MOOOOM," Clark whined as he approached them. "Don't embarrass me," he said, his face red as a tomato, and Bruce chuckled.
"You tell your mom about me?" Bruce asked, raising a brow, and Clark stuttered.
"O-once o-or t-twice," He said, looking away; Bruce turned his attention back to Mrs. Kent.
"How is the wound, Mrs. Kent?" Bruce asked, and Mrs. Kent sighed.
"It's healing. I will get the bandages off in two days, and please call me Martha." Clark's mother said, and Bruce nodded.
"Of course, Martha," Bruce said as Clark blushed.
"Why don't we have lunch at the house?" Martha suggested, and Clark looked at Bruce.
"Mom, we don't want to bother Bruce," Clark said, and Bruce shook his head.
"It's no bother," Bruce said, and Martha gave him a motherly smile.
"Wonderful. I came with my friend, so I will have her drive me back," Martha said, and Bruce had an idea.
"The Batmobile can drive you back. Just type in the address, and it will take you there," Bruce said as he led Martha to the Batmobile and typed in the address. The door closed, and the Batmobile drove away.
