It's been a week since the whole restaurant thing and Ghost hasn't even batted an eye toward me, he's becoming more distant but more protective recently. I did really pay attention to the protective part until Gaz brought it up yesterday. Apparently when I was training with Gaz, he was 'going to rough' on me, but I beg to differ.

Ghost's pov
I have been avoiding Spider, ever since she came into this task force all she's done is distract me. Her piercing hazel eyes, soft voice, the way she looks at me. I just can't have distractions, I am a lieutenant and do not need someone constantly pulling my attention away from focus. I won't bloody lie, she's a very attractive woman and I have no doubt in mind she doesn't have some sort of liking towards me, but love gets you killed even if I'm incapable of loving someone. My vision is on every detail of my soldiers as I train them, they won't make it out alive on the field if they aren't prepared. Although, across the training grounds I see her, again pulling my attention from my recruits. Her hands on her hips as she tells a solider not to talk back, tell him to drop down and give her 20. That in itself made me fascinated, a 5'10 man scared of a 5'3 woman. She does come off as intimidating along with her personality, she's highly skilled and can take care of herself but I know she's nothing but imitating towards me.

"Lt you're staring at 'er." Soap appeared next to me looking at her as well.

"Are you takin' a piss Johnny?" I reply.

"Didn't even realize I was behind you." He chuckled.

"That's the problem."

"Stop ignorin' her, the poor lass probably thinks she did somethin' wrong." He flashed a grin at me.

"You're out of your bloody mind soap."

"If ya say so." He shrugged before walking toward her.

I watched as he approached her, laughing and then they both looked at me while talking. Her faced contorted into confusion as she tilted her head to the left, what ever Soap said definitely wasn't fuckin good. Dismissing my recruits, watching them walk into the building for dinner I turn around to see Spider approach me.

"Hey, um you wanted to see me?" Eyebrows furrowed, her voice laced with confusion.

"Is that what Soap said?"

"Yeah?"

"I have nothing to say to you."

"Oh, alright." She turned on her heels and started to walk away.

"My office, 21:00." I spoke, stopping her in her tracks. The same confusion laced on her face but she still gave me a single nod and went to dismiss her soldiers.

Spider's pov
After I let my soldiers go my thoughts raced. Being in Ghost's office is never a good thing, and Soap had to tell me? Have I done anything wrong in the past month? week? Nothing really comes to mind. Not that i'm too worried we're both lieutenants, but either way it's Ghost and he could get me in trouble if there were reasons for it. Eating dinner I headed to shower, I figure I could use one being outside all day. Price wanted to see my 'skills' on the field, I say he just wanted entertainment. By the time I finished it was 21:25 so I start my journey to Ghost. I'm starting to overthink this at this point, if I blow him off it'll be worse and with his odd behavior lately i'm assuming he's already pissed with me. Reaching his door, it was already 21:30 but I still decide to knock once.. but no response, so I know a second time a little firmer. I am around 30 minutes late but maybe he already left? I raised my hand to knock again as Ghost opened the door. Taking on glimpse of him I could tell something was off, he was leaning on the door frame almost looking dazed.

"C'mon." He gestured to the inside of his office. It was neat, organized and bare. There were only essential things on his desk, except for the bourbon on his table half empty? I stared at the bottle before meeting his eyes to him already looking at me.

"Figure' you weren't comin." he spoke, turning around and sitting in his chair grabbing the bottle.

"I'm just late, sorry sir." I try to be professional, he may be the same rank but the way he carries himself I know he's more powerful in his rank than I am.

"Enough with that sir shit Spider." All I did was nod, no words came out of my mouth, I mean how am I supposed to answer to that? sorry sir? sorry lieutenant? sorry Ghost? my apologies? I figured it was best to keep my mouth shut. He took a big gulp of bourbon before it became awkwardly silent. I decided to speak, I just need to get this over with.

"You needed me for something?" I questioned

"Just.." He trailed off studying me.

"Ghost? you alright?"

"You need to distance yourself solider." As those words left his mouth I started to wonder why. Distance myself? we're on the same team for pete sake how do I distance myself on a mission?

"Excuse me? What have I done, please explain." Again, I questioned him. He rose from his chair walking towards up to me until we were face to face. Letting out a huff, he spoke again.

"You distract me Sieanna." His tone dropped, staring into my eyes. If I didn't think we were already standing close enough he stepped closer, brushing a loose piece of hair behind my ear.

"Ghost, you're drunk." I whispered. I won't lie, yes I may think Ghost is fine as fuck, and have thought about kissing him.. and other things but he's drunk and doesn't know what he's doing.

"I'm serious, you.. you're on my mind and it distracts me." He replied slow. "Men around here don't deserve you." Ghost said right after his other sentence. Im baffled, what was he going on about.

"I don't understand?"

"Sieanna." He warned.

"Ghost." I mirrored. "You are drunk you don't know what you're talkin' about."

"Trust me I do." His eyes flicked from my eyes towards my lips quickly as he held my waist with one hand. I put my hand on his chest, unsure if I'll regret this in the morning. He lifted his mask up only above his nose before our lips connected. He tasted like bourbon and cigarettes, both hands on my waist now. Our chests touching with his tongue in my mouth dominating. My adrenaline was rushing, I can hear my heart in my ears before we both pulled away panting.

"I.. think I should go." I quietly said looking at his pink lips again. All he replied with was a 'mhm' before kissing me again and guiding me out his office with a 'night'. Everything happened to fast, I don't regret it he was probably one of the best kissers but my stomach feels uneasy. Maybe it's butterflies but I can't help but feel guilty we kissed while he was drunk. Quickly going to my room, I fell asleep and now i'm really going to have to avoid Ghost.

Waking up and getting ready, I went to go get breakfast. I sat down next to Soap when Ghost sat next to me as well. Awkward if I say so myself, my leg started to bounce out of anxiety, until I felt a hand stopping it. I look over to see Ghost taking a sip of water with his hand on my knee. After breakfast we all had a meeting for an upcoming mission, Ghost did not look me in the eyes or acknowledge me at all.
