Cassian and Cirrus bicker over who bullied Jacob more. I wouldn't say they bullied Jacob they just, questioned him... very straightforwardly.
Although it's been I don't know how long since Jacob and Raine have been together, we barely know a thing about the dude. He doesn't come around, always with his girl best friend (as he called her), and says he's busy with work. Which I get but the guy is the definition of a surfer dude.
I look down at my shiny new silver Rolex. Twisting my wrist so the face catches the light and reflects. Hard work really does pay off.
Walking over to where Cassian and Cirrus still bicker like children, I dump the last few drops of my beer into the sink before throwing it in the bin. Leaning back against the counter and crossing my arms over my chest.
"You guys done yet?" They've had to be talking for more than five minutes. "No one bullied him more."
Cirrus is the first to snap his head in my direction, sipping his drink as his brows furrow inwards.
"I know!" He throws his hands up. "I wanted to do more. I still don't get why she sticks with the shit." Cirrus mumbled before patting Cassian and heading toward the bathroom.
Cassian chuckled as he took Jacob's spot on the island. "Why are we talking about him?" He asked. "I think Raine's better than him, don'tchu think?"
"Cassian," I said, looking at him in the eyes and shaking my head. "Why are you asking me? You think I know shit?" Moreover, I couldn't care less.
Jacob just seems like an idiot if I say so myself. I've never engaged in conversation with him. There's no reason to. He's not my friend nor is he my guest.
He's fine if someone were to ask. He's just there.
Cirrus walks out from the long hallway and into the brightly lit kitchen. Cirrus is what people call a beige mom. The whole kitchen is white but he has small accents of color throughout his apartment, unlike serious sad beige moms.
I lean my elbows against the white countertop and cross my arms on top of each other.
"How's Raine?" Cassian asks, curious for whatever reason. We do this every time. "She knows we know a little about the situation with Jacob, yeah?"
Everyone's obsessed with Raine and I don't have a damn clue why.
"Yeah, she does, how would she not?" Cirrus counters back. "I talk to both of you daily and it seems like the only real answer. Plus you saw how they were acting now. It was... different."
These two are drama eaters, they eat up every gossip, drama, and information. There's no issue differentiating why they eat this shit up. They have no other shit to do. Even if the drama runs in someone's family.
It could be an old lady and if she had drama--- guess who'd eat it up? These bitches.
How did I become friends with these two talkative assholes? You can't ask me that because I don't have the answer. Somehow, I'm here and that's all you need to know.
"Anyways," Cirrus swirls around on the chair next to Cassian before facing forward and staring at me from across the island. "You got promoted didn't you?"
I nod, rolling up my sleeves and grabbing another beer. "I did, voted CEO by the board of directors and retiring CEO." I take a swig and down it, knowing I'm in it for a long conversation.
I am now the CEO of Dream Records a music label. I've worked in the music industry for a long time as a producer, artist manager, and marketing specialist. The former CEO of Dream Records was a family friend of my father. Without my family ties to my father, I would not be where I am today.
